Early morning tired face, but happy face. Gosh it feels good to harvest a bucket of flowers again, it’s been a rough summer. Looking forward to the cooler months to get the garden looking good again and for the spring blooms to arrive 😊 it’s going to be SO good!!!

Probably time to introduce myself again for those that are new here. Hello 🤗 I’m Monika and so thankful you’re following along on this journey with me ☺️I was born in NZ and grew up on a dairy farm. I moved here with my husband at the age of 22. I worked in the fitness industry and then stopped working for 10 years while our 3 kids were little. Once our youngest started school I knew I didn’t want to work at the gym anymore (I do teach 2 boxfit classes which I love tho). I got really obsessed with watching gardening videos, mostly veggies until I discovered flowers 😆. I lease a very very tiny patch where I grow on, it’s about 10km from where I live. So very thankful for this.

A few random things about me…

🌸 I’ve never had a cup of coffee (that taste 🤢)
🌸 I left school a year early and lived with my Grossmami (nana) in Switzerland for a year.
🌸 I’ve played lots of different sports but the main ones…I played competitive soccer, boxed competitively, then got into ninja (competed on season 4 of ninja warrior, 4 weeks before filming season 5 i ruptured my Achilles training the warped wall 😫)
🌸 I’m getting a right hip replacement next year 🫣

I posted a reel but the music didn’t load so I deleted that and here’s a pic of how happy these incredible stock are making me! Wow wow wow, they are just stunning! They have quickly become one of my absolute favourite flowers. They tick so many boxes. They have all come on really fast so sadly I won’t have them for long, but I will be planning things out a little better next season 🌸🤍

I thought I’d really miss not having flowers but it’s been such a nice break from harvesting and bunching. And getting on top of all the jobs I was always to busy for, is feeling amazing. Looking back on these pictures tho is making me super excited for all the beautiful spring blooms that are currently growing. I love the changes of seasons 🥰

The last custom order for the season 🌸What a ride it’s been! I might have the odd bunch available over the next couple of weeks but I won’t be taking any custom orders now until the end of winter. Summer crops are coming out and Spring seedlings are going in, already feeling so excited for them 😊🌸

Hello 🤗 I thought it might be time to reintroduce myself with a lot more of you following along this flower journey with me the past couple of months 🥰 I’m Monika, and live on the Sunny Coast with my husband and 3 kids. I grew up on a dairy farm in NZ and moved here when I was 22.
Prior to being a stay at home mum I was a personal trainer, while I still love health and fitness, I had no interest in working back in the industry (other than my boxing classes, love teaching those 🥊).
I don’t have any training in growing but have learnt everything I know through lots of trial and error, YouTube and google 😄
I don’t live where I grow, which can make things a little more difficult at times, but I am so thankful to be able to follow my dream of growing beautiful flowers and share them with you.
I also wanted to say how thankful I am for all the support these past few months of starting Ocean Blooms. I know it would be easier sometimes to just grab a bunch from the supermarket, so when you go out of your way to message me, it is very much appreciated 🤗 Anymore questions?
