What a year for Sommer Saunder Celebrancy!

It is true, I did have a bit of a tough start, but gosh the bounce back has been extraordinary.

It’s been another huge year in my office, but for the first time since 2018, I have found a beautiful balance of work & life.

In May, I decided it was time to turn inward and for the past 6 months, have deep dived into a massive healing journey. Turns out, spending lots of time alone is one of the scariest most rewarding things I have ever done for myself.

A few things I am proud of as the year comes to a close and I marry my last 5 couples in December:

🫶🏼 I realised my babies are becoming men… so spent lots of one on one time with them. They are my favourite humans at 12 & 15!

🫶🏼 Consistent Yoga practice. Yoga is actually the answer to all of life’s problems!

🫶🏼 My businesses growth has been completely steady for 5 solid years now, reaching triple digits in beautiful weddings and receiving up to 450 enquiries each calendar year.

🫶🏼 Reviews & ratings through these years have consistently been between 99.98% and 99.99% with ABIA Weddings Australia

🫶🏼 has gone from strength to strength, really impressing the industry with its unique business model - watch out 2026! and I are very excited.

🫶🏼 I finally purchased all the best gear to take my love of music & weddings to the next level, clocking up 5 weddings as a triple threat of Celebrant/MC/DJ! 🪩 Look out 2026!

🫶🏼I learnt that perspective is the key to happiness, as it frames how we interpret & respond to so much. Staying humble is crucial for maintaining a healthy perspective and fostering growth.

🫶🏼 I learnt that in life, our presence is best given & received from a place of blessing not impressing. Authenticity is everything. This mantra ensures I stay true to who I am.

🫶🏼 I am more grateful than ever before for my support people (you know who you are), my gorgeous couples who I married & am yet to marry, my venue families who continue to recommend my business & to my vendor friendship circle. You are all the best humans!

Let’s do it all again shall we?!

LOVE, is there anything else better to celebrate?

Throwback to M + D's most stunning wedding from a few weeks ago which is also my home away from home.

I got to hang out all day/night with the incredible as I stayed on to MC this one and boy, was it ALL HEART.

Thank you Tom for capturing me (chins and all) in my absolute element, sharing this precious story, full of belly laughs, raw emotion and big feels.

Gosh I love what I do.

Love notes 💌

Sommer was our outstanding Marriage Celebrant who went above and beyond to make our day personalised to suit us and to understand our story. Sommer made all of our guests feel involved in our ceremony and nothing was ever too much trouble.

We felt calm and relaxing the whole time and wouldn't not have changed a thing about the ceremony! We loved it!

Sommer continued on as our MC after our Wedding Ceremony and this was a decision we are so glad we made! Sommer ensured we were staying on time for the reception, was professional, organised, funny and weaved our personality and story into the night.

Sommer checked in on us and even stayed beyond her rostered time because she was having such an enjoyable night with us and our guests. We loved having Sommer as our MC!! Keep doing what you do Sommer, you are amazing!

Here we are, half way through March all probably wondering how we got here so quick!? I am sure you have hit the ground running, I know I have... so keep reading if you would like to know what mischeif I've been getting up to!

Right before Christmas, the family and I had a mammoth move (after a 105 wedding year haha) to the gorgeous Yandina, onto 1.2 acres of pure beauty. I saw out New Years Eve, marrying the sweetest couple then went straight into 2025 with the showcasing at the iconic 💍

A week later I was part of a gorgeous styled shoot (see image), to then marry 3 couples on the one day for the wonderful dash day and was also part of the open day along with many of the Coast’s best suppliers!

Around all of this, I have blissfully married another 6 couples (one south of the border in Byron Bay), settled my 3 children into their new school year and also was nominated for a National Award with for Number 1 Celebrant in Australia, sayyyy what?!

I also launched a new side hustle with my best mate in the biz called & yes, that is totally your cue to head over & give us a follow! Dan & I have been working around the clock to launch (website is days away) with 3 mini shoots at our locked in 3/4 venues being and soon yewww!

Gosh, no wonder I feel like it’s been a non-stop confetti and champagne popping start to what will be an amazing year! 🥂

I would also like to note here very humbly, that my books are closed for 2025 and I will only be taking limited bookings for 2026. This year will be my last year of triple digit wedding numbers, to turn my focus onto other exciting projects.

I am so happy and very grateful to mention all of the above vendors/venues that have already been a part of what will be a very special year for me personally as I move away from being a full time celebrant.

A big thank you to past/future couples too, the support for my biz has/does mean so much!

So this happened on Thursday, and for the remainder of the day, paced my house with the biggest smile on my face, calling my nearest/dearest to share the news! 🎉

Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would ever receive such incredible recognition on not only a state level but now a national level, for what has come so naturally to me.

This industry has been a beautiful journey and this is the icing!

A HUGE thank you to my family first & foremost, my amazing couples, the venues that continually recommend me and my fellow vendors who I now call friends!

Also, A HUGE thank you to Natasha and the team who make us feel so valued year in and year out with such recognition and platform to allow our couples to extend their gratitude through kind words of love. I know they adore doing this after their most perfect wedding day! ✨

And lastly, A HUGE congratulations to all of the other finalists, in particular the 29 celebrants nationally and my fellow QLD cellebuddies who I will see on the night of the 29th my second home away from home! 🫶🏼 Pinch me!
