Glenbarr Homestead Situated on the outskirts of Strathalbyn, Glenbarr is a heritage listed homestead & can be booked for camps, private weddings, family events or functions.

Situated on the outskirts of Strathalbyn, Glenbarr is a heritage listed homestead set on 35 acres of gently undulating farming land alongside the meandering Middle Creek. It is the ideal site for a smaller camp group, adult retreat or function. Glenbarr Camp and Conference centre is located 45 minutes South West of Adelaide in the quiet rural countryside near Strathalbyn. It is on the edge of the

township and only a short walk to the centre of this historic town with its beautiful memorial gardens, stunning heritage buildings and collection of antique shops and cafes. Glenbarr was originally a home for Scottish pioneers and was one of the first buildings in Strathalbyn built in c1842. The buildings are a unique insight to the lifestyle of the early pioneers in rural Australia. Many of the original buildings are used by groups with modern accommodation and bathroom facilities to ensure a comfortable stay. Glenbarr Camp and Conference Centre can be booked for camps, private weddings, family events or functions. Tours of the historic and unique Main House with its traditional furnishings and collections can be arranged by appointment.

Join us this Sunday for a Gardeners delight and country hospitality at Glenbarr Homestead.
You can expect to see Rusty Wire Creations, Pauline's Creations, Trigg Plants, Fengate Nursery, Rose Herbs and Honey, Littlewood Nursery, Adelaide Hills Vege Gardens, Bush Trader, KM 2 Garden Tools, Heather Welsh Country Herbals, Country Posies (Nairne), Hidden Valley Orchids, Mystical Garden Kokedamas, Smokin Heights Iris, Lymnac Metal Arts, Strathalbyn Garden Club, Mimi & Alby & Made by Fred, Magnolia Birdhouse, Zambezi Crafts, Robbie's Jewellery, Leon Caricaturist, Knitting Twist, The Kindness Croft and Thistle Meadery.
Plus, for refreshment, Friwi Crepes, D & D Catering, Lodge of St John BBQ with Devonshire Teas served by Glenbarr volunteers.
Jan Forrest - Butterfly Conservancy (11am), Tracey Koumi - Littlewood Agapanthus Farm (12 noon) Mark Smith - Adelaide Hills Vege Gardens (1.00pm), and Sophie Thomson (2pm) will be speaking in the Barn.
The Strathalbyn Tourism Association will also have a stand sharing information about our wonderful town.

This week we hosted a group that requested a special dinner. So we transformed our upstairs room at the Homestead for them. Normally this room is known to us as the Rankine room and shares family stories and memorabilia.. But looks pretty swish as a formal dinning room.

Today was the Strathalbyn Great Duck Race and the Glenbarr Homestead Corporate entry, Bonnie McQuacken, did a great job. She had an excellent position at the start, jumped the gun (assisted by a burst of strong wind), and raced down the track with speed. With a 50m lead, she crossed the finish line first, only to be DISQUALIFIED! It was an excellent effort and a great showing of form for a win next year.
