Jamaican born, Roderick spent the first 15 yrs of his life on the Caribbean Island of Jamaica where he experienced first-hand the true traditional cooking styles and tastes of Island life. All the while gaining valuable experience and knowledge, which led to him becoming a successful restaurant owner (in Australia) in his own right. Having established the popular YEAH MAAN in the Melbourne suburb of Toorak and BAX FOOD & Co in Yarraville. Roderick became the darling of food critics, reviewers and bloggers as they were taken by the true authenticity and expertise of his Caribbean food. Not one to rest on his laurels… Roderick is also the founder and managing director of BOSS MAN FOOD which began with importing world renowned Caribbean food brands to this country like WALKERSWOOD, PICKAPEPPER and BUSHA BROWNE and also recently launching an online portal for gourmet food products FOOD PRODUCTS ONLINE. He has also established BOSS MAN FOOD as an umbrella company that oversees catering at major events and food festivals like the QVM NIGHT MARKET, MOOMBA, ST KILDA FESTIVAL, MORDIALLOC FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL, TASTE OF SYDNEY/MELBOURNE, THE GOOD FOOD & WINE SHOW and countless other corporate and private functions and events. His love of the food industry led him to work with food production companies where he provided catering options for PETER ROWLAND, DELWARE NORTH, SPOTLESS CATERING, DAMN FINE FOOD and liaised catering events at NGV, VRC FLEMINGTON, The MELBOURNE GRAND PRIX, ARTS CENTRE, CROWN CASINO, luxury hotels, private schools, restaurants and numerous corporate events and functions. Clay has also established himself as a worthy event manager in the Hospitality industry having worked for the following brands and clients like NANDO’S AUSTRALIA, MERCEDES BENZ, BURBANK HOMES, THE SPHERE AGENCY and others.
