Jessie & Dave first met at work, but given their offices were on different levels of the building, they didn’t really have much to do with each other. It wasn’t until few years later, when they ended up at work drinks that they actually noticed each other.
On this occasion Dave made a joke that didn’t
land and Jessie, not realizing that he was joking, left
thinking that he was a bit of dick. And so the next time
she saw him, I quote, “I walked straight up and said,
“I’ve got a bone to pick with you!” fully intending to
call him out on the comment. He immediately knew
what I was referring to, apologised, and explained
what he’d meant.”
You see, said joke had been made in the time of pandemic mask wearing and it turned
out that without being able to see all of his face, well
the joke was lost.
But with Jessie back on side, they ended up chatting
for ages - it was just so easy and fun. Jessie couldn’t
help but notice Dave’s quiet confidence & Dave adored the way Jessie could hold her own no matter who she chatted to.
