Today, thousands of adults will choose two wheels for the journey to work.

For many, it will mean a healthier commute, less time in traffic or simply the joy of riding. For a young person receiving their first bike, those same two wheels can open up an entirely new world.

Through Bikes for Tykes, workplace teams have built and donated 10,500 bikes worth more than $2.1 million. Lined up wheel to wheel, they would stretch for around 18 kilometres.

Ride Your Bike to Work Day celebrates what a bike can add to our own day. We are also celebrating every team that has helped place that freedom into someone else’s hands.

Now this is a team challenge with a finish worth racing towards. 🚲

The Colliers South Sydney and South West Sydney teams arrived ready to play and put that energy to brilliant use through Bikes for Tykes.

By the final challenge, loose parts had become brand-new bikes, colleagues had connected in a completely different setting and a day away from the office had become a meaningful contribution to Adopt Change.

A huge thank you to the Colliers team for getting wholeheartedly involved, Adopt Change for the important work they do and Hugh Sykes for leading the experience.

Six Play Styles. Four decades of research. One new way to understand yourself and the people you lead.

Play is built into every human, but what brings it to life is deeply personal.
The conditions that unlock curiosity, energy and connection in one person may leave someone else completely unmoved. For leaders, understanding that difference can offer a valuable new perspective on how people engage, participate and respond within a team.

We are excited to welcome Mia Sundstrom, CEO of the National Institute for Play, back to The Play Lab for a live introduction to Play Styles.

Developed by Dr Stuart Brown and NIFPlay, the framework draws on affective neuroscience and research into how thousands of people have experienced play throughout their lives.

Mia will join Dwain and Shane to unpack the science and explore what this new understanding could mean for individuals, leaders and workplace teams.

It is a deceptively simple question from FISH! creator John Christensen, and one every leader should take the time to consider.

In our latest Play Lab, Shane Rakich joined John for a rare conversation about the story behind the FISH! Philosophy and what nearly 30 years of working with organisations has taught him about culture, leadership and human connection.

The conversation went far beyond the flying fish. John shared the moment at Pike Place Fish Market when he realised he was witnessing genuine care, not simply entertainment. He also explored why Be There, Play, Make Their Day and Choose Your Attitude remain so powerful when they become part of how people work together every day.

Because FISH! is not something a team completes.

As John put it, “FISH! is a way, not a day.”
