Many thanks to you all for coming and being one of the bunch. There is certainly some hidden talent amongst the ladies.

Our Autumn Flower Workshop has a new date of Wednesday 9 April.
Time: 12 midday til 2 p.m. approx
Venue: Plantation residence
Cost: $80 per person includes a light lunch, all flowers and resources and professional tuition.

No previous skills are necessary.
You will learn how to create a style, manipulate flowers and greenery and learn about colour combinations.

Now that we are at the beginning of Autumn – my favourite season – we will be showcasing some of our most preferred flowers for the season.

Today it is the Alstromeria flower which is more commonly known as the Peruvian Lily. As you can see, they have similarities to lilies. It is a perennial (meaning that they live for more than one growing season) and they come in a large variety of colours and are excellent as cut flowers with a vase life of around two to three weeks.

If you would like to grow these lovely flowers then they will need to be planted in deep, well-drained soil and preferably full sun but can cope with some light shade.

Once they are established, they will tolerate dry conditions but watering them regularly will produce much better blooms.

Green thumb Friday is happening this Friday at Hokstead Plantation with Christmas plant bargains to be found.

These herb tubs are looking absolutely amazing and quite the sensory experience for garden lovers.

As you can see the Sunflowers are also trying to grab some attention by being taller than Ellen which takes some doing as Ellen is over 6’ tall. 😊

Hoking Enterprises has been growing quality Eucalyptus foliage and bud for 22 years.

Locally owned and operated, our plantation is located on the picturesque Darling Downs, within the warm and friendly community of Warwick - just a 2 hour drive from Brisbane.

Eucalyptus is a versatile product and used in a floral display, the eye is immediately drawn to its colour, aroma and form. Our foliage colours range from a silver grey to various shades of green and the form of its leaves can range from very small and dainty to the medium size spiral effect, right through to the large leaves (absolutely stunning when used in foyer arrangements). Eucalypt also has a long lasting vase life of 2-3 weeks, at the end of which can then be displayed as a dried arrangement.

After many years in the industry, we are more passionate than ever about this national icon in all its glorious forms.
