Winter update from the dahlia patch.

It’s very wet and muddy. The tuber clumps are looking really healthy. A bit smaller than last year which is unsurprising given the very late flowering but the quality looks great.

Can’t believe this patch full of flowers a month ago.

New Workshop Dates: Dahlia Dig and Divide on Sunday 21st June.

Join us on the flower farm and learn how to lift, store and take care of your dahlias over winter. Leave with a box of tubers that you can plant out in spring for months of colour in your garden. More details on our website.

The flower farm is between Robe and Kingston Se. Address will be emailed with joining instructions.

Scented stocks and snaps. Wonderful for winter bunches.
These were programmed for Mother’s Day but decided to flower 2 weeks later. Ah well. Means lots of lovely additions for bunches now.

Sound the Last Post again, lest we forget
the freedom that we cherish has been bought -
not found like mushrooms in the field; the debt
is ours to pay, mindful of those who fought
and fell - yet still they held the torch aloft!
May we remain as zealous to withstand
the traitors who would make our fibres soft,
as well as enemies beyond the land.

The trumpet has the power to move us still,
and though the debris of a flood of years
lies over hand and mind, an aching thrill
comes rising perilously close to tears.
Sound the Last Post to hold the memory bright,
then sound the Rouse and keep the torch alight.

Pinks and watermelons for H&S yesterday. What happens when unseasonal rain forced this garden wedding inside?

We packed the car with more flowers than we ever thought possible, filled every surface with flowers and candles and made a blank canvas into a very pretty space.

On crazy days like these, it was amazing to have such an amazing team of fellow vendors to help pull this together for this beautiful couple. Thank you , lcpartyhire for all your help. 🤍
