Head Chef - Catering (Full Time) - Richmond
Monday – Friday Day Shifts
We are a catering company with food stores in Richmond and North Melbourne that have a great reputation for good quality wholesome food. We have and continue to be in a good position to trade well throughout the current Covid-19 pandemic.
We are looking for an experienced Head Chef with a passion for good food to lead the kitchen team on a full time salary basis. The central kitchen in Richmond prepares the food for all the catering as well as the food stores.
We pride ourselves on having a great working environment but serious about quality, consistency and wholesome food.

Sublime is a wholesome food-based café/food store in Richmond that offers great food, excellent service and quality coffee. We also have other stores in Cremorne and North Melbourne.

The position is part-time/casual mainly over the Monday-Friday lunch period (totalling approximately 25 hours per week) with a view to more hours as we grow the business.

It is critical that this person has the following qualities:
• loves to work with people (customers and staff)
• is efficient, proactive and can work independently
• is flexible around responsibilities and hours
• has an eye for detail, presentation and cleanliness
• has very good coffee making experience
• can work as part of a small team
• willing to "get their hands dirty"

The position starts from Monday 16 January.

Café Manager Position – Richmond – Immediate start
Sublime is a wholesome food-based café/catering food store concept with stores in Richmond and North Melbourne.
We are looking for a customer-focused Manager for our main Richmond store. This important role begins immediately as the incumbent Manager must reluctantly leave for imminent personal reasons.

Salary 50-60K experience dependant.

The café is open Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm and has a heavy emphasis on good quality wholesome food and coffee for both immediate consumption and to take home.

It is critical that this person has the following qualities:
• loves to work with people (customers and staff)
• is efficient, proactive and can work independently
• is flexible around responsibilities and hours
• has an eye for detail, presentation and cleanliness
• has excellent coffee making experience
• can work as part of a small team
• willing to "get their hands dirty"

As a Manager, the right person will also have these additional skills:
• be a leader and manager of people
• have initiative and a “get up” attitude
• ability to run the store like “they own the store”
• ability to understand basic financials
• social marketing skills

Let me tell you a story. The story of a hero. He brought happiness by the thousands. The people loved him. He was well respected and whenever people were given his gift their day would magically improve.

His secret gift bestowed to the populace of the land of Richmond was a little brown bean ground into a fine powder and added to heated milk.

The hero was strong, kind but gentle. He was a good man. But the nefarious dontwatchwhereyousitticus knew his weakness.

The god gifted spectacles of legend.

He crushed them beneath his mighty buttocks and our hero was blind.

Look basically if Matt doesn’t recognise you today or you see him frowning or squinting at you: he’s not mad. Just blind.

Please bear with him til Saturday when he can get a new pair.

There are some hallucinogenic properties contained within some minces. Four hundred years ago the mince found within the pie of a farmers wife took her and her whole family on a trip.

After four days they sobered up and when asked where they’d been they said the trip took them to an old old building in the middle of a purple forest. This building contained all sorts of magical treats and snacks.

The Family Cottage Pie is an ode to that family. And the huge serving is available at Sublime for just eighteen dollars!

The Rosetta is an old old pagan symbol that signified the return of the wooden arc that would carry the pagans to new worlds. They would draw it upon parchment and carve it into rocks and trees that signified way points for the wooden vessel to navigate by.

The importance of the symbol was lost over time to all but a few. But if you see one of these mystical symbols in your coffee- you can bet your ass that’s a pagan alien trying to make his way home. Call the FBI immediately and don’t panic.
