Yoga Teacher and Dancer
Briohney was first inspired to practice Yoga in 2012 whilst discovering dance to assist with anxiety. Beginning dance as an adult was challenging. The combination of both yoga and dance allowed her to develop confidence through self expression and body awareness. Living with anxiety majority of her life, Briohney was able to move forward through the practice and allow her true self to emerge.
Falling in love with movement as a healing art, Briohney experimented with different forms of traditional and modern dance including Tribal and Indian Belly Dance, Odissi, Balinese Dance, Dancehall, Hula Hooping and Contemporary Dance creating her own unique style, training alongside Melbourne and International teachers and beginning her solo performance journey in 2018.
Since completing her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Gertrude Street Yoga Fitzroy in 2018. Briohney has gained experience teaching different styles and abilities within community based yoga. This includes classes for Body Positive Australia at AKA Yoga Studio East Brunswick and Quinn House Fitzroy through Vincent Care, providing Yoga classes for men in drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
Briohney has an authentic and compassionate approach facilitating a safe and supportive space to allow those participating to connect within their own experience. Witnessing and living the massive impact both yoga and dance had on her everyday life, sharing different movement became a natural progression.
