Mary's was the only church left in Port Douglas and in danger of being demolished. The church was donated to The Save the Church group and thus began her move to her current location and complete restoration. She was officially opened on November 11th 1989. Mary's by the Sea is a non-denominational Chapel where couples from all over the world come to say their vows.
