This year Connections Nightclub turns a massive 50!!!! I am incredibly proud to be a resident DJ there over the past 4 years but have danced in the long standing culture of the club for over 18 years 🥂🍾🌟💛

THE REVOLUTION WAS ADVERTISED
When being out was an act of bravery and finding your people took more than guts and good intuition, one tiny line of text sparked a seismic shift in Perth’s nightlife.
The year was 1975 and a small notice in the Sunday newspaper changed everything.
That ad wasn’t just a listing - it was a lifeline. A wink. A code. A whisper. An invitation to step into a space where you could be yourself - louder, prouder, and surrounded by what would soon become your chosen family.
“CAMPAIGN members and friends - new nightclub opens this Thursday. ‘Connections’ at 81 James Street.”
It was that small square of ink that sparked a BIG revolution.
We opened our doors and Perth’s LGBTQIA+ nightlife was never the same.
Connections has become so much more than a nightclub. It’s a place where love is love, where the music’s loud and the heels are higher. Where first kisses happen under disco balls and lifelong friendships are made in the haze of glitter and laughter.
We’ve seen it all — the shoulder pads, the perms, the side parts, the sequins, the change - yet through it all, we’ve stayed true to our roots: bold, brave, and unapologetic.
Fifty years on, we’re still dancing in defiance, loving out loud, and celebrating everything that got us here. Remember stay GOLD, always believe in your soul.
