Massive signing alert! The Melbourne Ice are proud to announce the addition of former NHL 30-goal scorer David Booth to our 2025 AIHL roster!

Booth brings a wealth of experience and elite skill to the squad, having played 530 NHL games across 11 seasons with the Florida Panthers, Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Detroit Red Wings. He tallied 124 goals and 112 assists, including a standout 31-goal season with the Panthers in 2008–09. Known for his speed, intensity, and scoring touch, Booth is set to be a game-changer in the AIHL.

We can’t wait to see what he brings to the ice this season — welcome to Melbourne, David!

The AIHL would like to wish Nathan Walker and the St. Louis Blues all the best for the NHL playoffs, after the Blues secured a wildcard berth for the post-season.

The Blues clinched a playoff spot after a 6-1 regulation win over the Utah Hockey Club earlier this week. The Blues were 7 points out of a wildcard spot at the start of February, but then put together a 21-5-4 record, as well as a club record setting 12 game win-streak, to make the post-season for the 46th time in team history.

Walker was a big part of that turnaround on the "WTF" 4th line with Radek Faksa and Alexey Toropchenko, posting a career-high 16 points and equaling his career-best of 8 goals in a season.

"He's had a huge year passing the 50-point mark, the 200-games played milestone and then setting the single season hits record for the Blues' franchise - making the playoffs after such a huge turnaround just caps it off," AIHL Media Manager Stephen White said.

"From everyone at the AIHL, we'd like to wish Nathan and the St Louis Blues the best of luck for the playoffs and here's hoping they can continue their run into the post-season."

The Blues will face the Winnipeg Jets in Game 1 at 8am AEST on Sunday 20th April.

Sessions will be split into smaller groups based on age/skill
