Exciting News 🥳

We are thrilled to announce that Ambrosia Catering & Event Hire has been selected as the successful candidate for the lease of the cafe located at The Rise in the City of Bayswater.

With a passion for fresh, delicious food and exceptional service, we are excited to bring vibrant new energy to this much loved community space for everyone to enjoy.

I'm happy to report that we've found a new lessee to take over the Café space at The RISE. As part of our recent EOI process, the City received a number of formal submissions, and Council agreed to lease the venue to Ambrosia Catering & Event Hire, a catering business that also provides café and canteen services for high schools, industrial sites, small home parties, corporate events and weddings, since 2002.

Ambrosia is intending to provide a fully functioning café at The RISE, with some additional catering options, and will be open each day of the week. They will be paying a rental fee for the City, in accordance with our policy.

I've been pushing for this EOI process to be progressed for a few years now, as it's been too long since this corner was vibrant with a café that invited many visitors to our local recreation hub to stay there a bit longer. It used to be great seeing parents' groups with many young kids enjoying the park after library sessions or the weekly visit to the child health nurse, or other residents sticking around after a gym session or other activities. That helped activating the front area of the RISE, which has so much potential as the main green area in the Maylands Town Centre.

This move compliments other additional improvements undertaken in that location in recent years, including getting more trees planted, shady umbrellas and festoon lights installed, and various local events organised by the city.
