With a jam-packed long weekend coming up, the last thing you'll probably want to do is to be stuck in the kitchen, cooking up a storm.

Whether it's treating yourself for the start of school holidays (you know you'll need it 🤭) or after going on the countless rides at the Perth Royal Show or if you just need to feed the gang during/after the AFL Grand Final (only limited deliveries before kick-off available), our CHARCUTERIE + DESSERT box is the perfect choice!

We'll be delivering 3 days over the long weekend!!!

Finally! We are starting to see blue skies more often (ok, maybe not today 😏), the days are warmer, and the flowers are blooming!!

Let's get into the spirit and put some colour on the plates too, with a traditional south of France dish. Lots of herbs and spring vegetables will, I hope, please your eyes as well as your palates!

As a chocolate lover (borderline addict 😆), my answer will definitely be a bigYES!! Everyone should include chocolate as part of their balanced diet. Not only does it taste so good, but it also brings out the happy hormones.

Everyone has their own favourite type - milk, dark or white. Mine is the dark, with between 70 - 90% cocoa. But I also like the milk when mixed with fruity components. This box will contain both dark & milk chocolates, so you'll get both sweet and bitter notes, along with the fruity addition of apricots in the milk chocolate mini cake.

If you are looking for an 'out of the box' veg that's also super healthy, you should consider the kohlrabi. We don’t see it very often on menus, which is a shame because it is very tasty (despite its alien-like exterior of multiple stems sticking out from its bulb). Less bitter than a turnip and less peppery than a radish, it's used widely in European cuisine as well as Vietnamese and Indian cooking.

You can use it raw (it has such a beautiful crunch) or braise it like I do in our next meal box.

Rhubarb compote is one of my favourite accompaniments for desserts (especially when warmed up!). It brings an element of tartiness and tanginess.

It pairs perfectly with fruity desserts so in our next charcuterie + dessert box, I've matched it up with our lemon & caramelised apple tart. The addition of the mint crémeux will add some 'freshness' to the dish.

~~~ Sweet Curry ~~~
We are back from our Bangkok getaway!

We've shopped til we dropped, walked til our legs wobbled (+ sweating like a dripping tap 🥵) and most excitingly, ate til our bellies cried out "no more"!!

From street food to market stalls to small local restaurants and fine-diners, every bite has been a taste sensation!

We've tasted so many varieties of curries - from the North to the South of Thailand as well as ones influenced by Malaysia and India.

As we've experienced, not all curries are hot and fiery. So, taking inspiration from this, for this weekend's meal box, I will make a vadouvan sauce (a French version of an Indian spice blend).

It gives a complex taste of sweetness with a hint of smokiness. Paired with slow cooked lamb, it will be ideal for a cold winter dinner!
