Our Open Day is a chance to see every space at Matilda Bay pushed in a completely different direction.

Different florals, furniture, colour palettes, lighting, table settings and layouts, all working across the venue at the same time.

We never want couples to walk away thinking there’s one “Matilda Bay look”. The fun is seeing how much each space can change depending on the people, suppliers and style behind it.

When you bring some of Perth’s best wedding suppliers together with a coordinator who has a very clear vision… this is what happens.

Another Wedding Open Day done, and somehow it was even bigger than the last!

A huge thank you to every single supplier who gave their time, talent and energy to the day. Every year we wonder how we’re going to top the last one, and every year you somehow help us do exactly that 🤍

And to the hundreds of couples, brides, grooms, family members and friends who came through the doors, thank you. It was absolutely huge, and seeing the venue so full of people planning their weddings made all those months of work worth it.

We know it got pretty hectic at times, so if you didn’t get the chance to chat properly with Sianne or the team, flick us an email. We’d be very happy to organise a private viewing and go through all those questions with you without quite so many people around.

So... same time next year? 😉

TOMORROW'S THE DAY!

After months of planning, supplier meetings, styling ideas and a lot happening behind the scenes, we finally get to open the doors.

From 2pm–6pm, Matilda Bay will be in full Wedding Open Day mode. The spaces will be styled, the suppliers will be ready, the music will be playing and there’ll be canapés and wines to taste as you make your way through the venue.

Come and see the details properly, meet the people behind them, ask questions and spend the afternoon surrounded by all things weddings.

We’ve spent the last few weeks introducing you to the incredible suppliers joining us this Sunday. Now it’s our turn!

If you’re new around here, Matilda Bay is a waterfront restaurant and events venue on the Swan River, with everything from the ceremony lawn and Catalina Room to the Patio and upstairs Roe Room. This Sunday, you’ll get to see those spaces set for weddings and spend some time with the people who know them best.

First, meet Sianne. She’s been part of Matilda Bay for six years and knows weddings here inside out. Timelines, room setups, wet-weather plans, ceremony logistics, the tiny details you suddenly think of at 10pm… chances are, she’s dealt with it before!

She’ll be busy on Sunday, so we’ll also have plenty of our experienced wedding and events team around to help, including our function managers and sommelier. And throughout the afternoon, our chefs and wait staff will be doing what they do best, with canapés coming from the kitchen, wines being tasted and plenty of chances to experience the food and service for yourself.

It’s a chance to meet the team behind the day, ask questions, taste your way around the venue and get a much better sense of what a wedding at Matilda Bay is really like.

One takes care of the Perth sun. The other makes lighting part of the design.

For an outdoor wedding, is one of those suppliers that manages to make something practical look like it was always part of the styling. Their umbrellas bring much-needed shade, while the colour, shape and placement can be worked into the wider palette rather than becoming an afterthought.

Then, as the light starts to drop, gets to work with feature lighting that deserves just as much thought as the flowers or furniture. Chandeliers, pendants, fairy lights, lamps and statement pieces add another layer to the styling and can become a feature in their own right.

Two details you might not think about first, but ones that can have a huge impact on the finished setup.

Your wedding will go very quickly. These are the people making sure you get to see it again.

This year we’re joined by , and .eventcontent , and each brings something very different to the way your day is captured.

Kenneth Lim has a documentary approach, focusing on real moments rather than overly posed ones, with a timeless finish that suits modern weddings beautifully.

Anni-Maria leans romantic and natural, with a real eye for the in-between moments: the laughter, the emotion, the little interactions happening around you that you might otherwise miss.

Then there’s Courtney from The Event Content, bringing a more high-end, polished approach to wedding content. Think sharp, modern, elegant footage captured for social, so you can relive the day almost immediately without it feeling like an afterthought.

And this is exactly why meeting them in person is so valuable. Photography and content capture your wedding in very different ways, and there’s a lot to think about beyond simply liking someone’s work online.

From the person who actually marries you, to the people helping you get wedding-ready, this trio covers some pretty important parts of the day.

brings warmth, humour and plenty of personality to the ceremony, with the experience to know exactly when to keep things light and when to let the moment speak for itself.

will be there talking all things bridal makeup, sharing tips and answering your questions. She’ll also be creating the makeup look for our bridal model during the afternoon.

Plus will be dressing our model in her bridal gowns, so you can see the fit, movement and details properly in person. She will also have plenty more from the couture range on display for you to see up close.

If you’ve been wanting to see more than a portfolio, this is your chance.
