24 years ago, a young Portuguese man named Jay V strutted into a pharmacy with some Peri-Peri in his step, like he was on a secret mission. He leaned in over the counter and whispered, “One can of Medic, please.” The pharmacist on duty, a Holy Lebanese Party Lord named Ghassan, raised an eyebrow and instantly knew what was up. He’d seen that look before: hopeful, slightly sweaty, and vibrating with pre-rave energy. But instead of lecturing Jay V about responsible usage or hydration, Ghassan calmly handed over the can of Medic and said, “Go forth son and dance… and maybe bring water.”
Later that night, at a sketchy warehouse lit only by lasers, hope, and questionable wiring, Jay V was spotted in the crowd. Wearing a glow stick necklace, and a whistle glued to his mouth, spreading PLUR like it was going out of fashion and he was dancing as if gravity was optional.
Out of the fog machine mist appeared… The Holy Party Lord Ghassan. Also glowing. Also vibing. They knew there was only one thing to do, embrace, say “I love you man” and fist pump to the music.
And that, is how Jay V and Ghassan became DJ husbands—bonded forever by friendship, a shared love of trance, and one suspiciously effective can of Medic. The rave ended at 6am but their bromance never stopped.
