“Is your set pre-recorded?” 🤣

I actually got asked this question on Saturday & it’s probably the funniest double-edged compliment I’ve got while DJing, and it’s actually inspired this little series.

Firstly... no. We never pre-record our DJ sets, and if we did (which we never would), it definitely wouldn’t be at your event!

Bless him for asking & it’s a fair question because certain songs shouldn’t always sound so smooth over each other.

The answer I gave him was pretty simple as to why: practice at home.

It’s about knowing our music library inside out, experimenting with different genres across different decades and finding ways to make songs that shouldn’t work together... somehow do.

Whether it’s ‘70s or ‘80s pop, rock or disco, ‘90s trance/ house, early 2000s pop and R&B, or even trendy country, house and/or D&B songs coming out, there are almost always creative ways to figuring out how to make them work.

We’ve got plenty more of these transitions, so we thought we’d start sharing a few of our favourites. (Can’t give away all our transitions though... 🤣)

The Flight - Dimitri Vegas, has a very good build up BUT the drop is pretty average (in our opinion ❌) hence why we’ve mixed in Under Control - Calvin Harris.

“Winging” events is never a plan of attack for us. We always take the playlist/s our clients send through, dive into their selection and break it down inside our DJ software into custom playlists prior to each event! ✅
