I can’t believe it’s the night before Christmas. December flew by like a single week, and I swear it was January 2025 just yesterday.

Rainer and I want to take this moment to thank each and every one of you who made 2025 such an incredible year.

To our couples — thank you for choosing to share your wedding days with us. We are so grateful for your love, your support, and the trust you placed in us to deliver the best day ever. That promise to you was one we were proud to keep.

To our suppliers and vendors, and to our family and friends — thank you for your continued support and for helping us achieve the goals we set year after year.

Chapter Barn is more than just a venue. It’s a community where love is celebrated, friendships are formed, and people truly come together.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and so much love going into the new year.

On Sunday the 14th of December, we hosted our very first Christmas Wreath Making Workshop with the ever-so-talented flower queen, Krissy from
and what a hit it was!

We had the chance to learn from the master herself and create the most beautiful wreaths, each one completely unique and something we were all so proud of. Everyone couldn’t believe they had made such a stunning centrepiece for their front door.

The barn smelt like Christmas with fresh pine filling the air, cocktails were flowing (and definitely made us even more creative 🤪), and the room buzzed with laughter, chats and connection through creativity.

We’ll be holding another workshop very soon, so keep your eyes and ears peeled — you won’t want to miss it! 🎄✨

We wanted a Christmas party that wasn’t awkward small talk and polite hellos… so we threw a fake “Married at First Sight” wedding with all our favourite vendors.

Everyone got a character, we wrote the script, and the chaos was chef’s kiss.
Phill and Ricky nailed the groom roles, and Rainer’s German gay celebrant had more sausage references than a German butcher shop.

Claire half tipsy, still in character, and absolutely nailed the photos— as always

Emily and James were our very last couple for 2025, they do say you leave the best for last. It’s impossible to pick a “best wedding,” because honestly, we truly get the best couples here… but this one is right up there with all the vibes and feels.

The boys stayed in the Studio the night before, which almost never happens, because the girls usually take over for hair and makeup on the wedding morning. But having the boy squad stay and help me set up was honestly the BEST thing ever!

Emily’s step-mother, a florist, absolutely blew us away with her talent. She created nearly four metres of florals for the ceremony as her wedding gift, the most stunning, generous gesture. How lucky is Emily to have a fairy-flower Step Mum?

The boys helped me set everything up on the day, and they nailed it. They even made the Studio beds 150% perfectly, and that almost never happens, but only because I’m a little over the top with the amount of pillows on the bed! 😂 I did tell James that if he weren’t getting married, and I weren’t already married, Emily might have had a fight on her hands!

The ceremony was beautiful, with Celebrant Kate delivering yet another perfectly written ceremony. And in true Chapter Barn style, the rain held off just in time for the Mr & Mrs kiss. The photos are pure magic.

Claire Davie, as always, captured every moment with her incredible eye.

Emily and James , thank you for being our final couple of 2025. Celebrating your first Christmas as husband and wife is something truly special.

When two people who live for the outdoors, adventure, fishing and camping tie the knot, pure magic is guaranteed.
And magic is exactly what happened on their wedding day.

It was a celebration overflowing with laughter, love, good drinks, and cars that sounded like the Grand Prix had rolled straight into Outtrim. Surrounded by the best people, they created the best day.

The skies stayed moody, the wind stayed at absolute zero — not even the veil got a chance to dance! It was perfection up on the hill… and once the sun dipped, they partied hard into the night.

Beau and Danielle, thank you again for choosing to share your incredible day with us. What an honour.

On Saturday, the 8th of November 2025, Jackson and Tahlia made pure magic on a day that set records for being the coldest and wettest in 120 years. Once again, we were blessed with the most legendary couple who took it all in their stride, refusing to let the weather steal the why, the reason they were getting married.

Because the why isn’t about perfect Instagram moments or planned photo visions. It’s about the real moments.Rain, wind and all. When you hold onto that, and you’re surrounded by the best vendors in the business who have your back through rain, hail, or shine — that’s when the true magic happens.

Thank you for sharing your incredible day with us. We loved seeing you both soak it all in and have the best day (and night!) ever.

On Monday the 3rd of November, we held the love story of Matt and Emily.

To say I was moved from start to finish is an understatement. The entire day overflowed with joy, laughter, love and happy tears. Even the skies joined in, raining their own happy drops — but when we moved the ceremony inside the barn, it became pure magic.

It was everything you could have hoped for and more. Matt and Emily embraced every moment with ease and excitement — nothing was going to stop these two lovebirds from celebrating in style!

From the unforgettable family dance routine to Matt’s surprise performance of three songs with their epic family band, it was a night to remember. Smiles stretched ear to ear, feet danced to soreness, and hearts were full.

It truly was a magical day in every way imaginable — and the photos say it all.

Why Every Couple Should Take Out Wedding Insurance — It’s Not Your Venue’s Responsibility if You Cancel

Planning a wedding is one of the most exciting times of your life, but it’s also a major financial commitment. From deposits on venues and suppliers to the cost of dresses, flowers, and photography, thousands of dollars can be tied up months — even years — before the big day.

But what happens if something goes wrong? What if a close family member becomes seriously ill, or your relationship takes an unexpected turn and the wedding is called off? This is where wedding insurance steps in — and why it’s so important to understand that your venue is not responsible for reimbursing you in these situations.

Why venues aren’t liable for personal cancellations

When you book a venue, you’re entering into a business agreement. The venue sets aside your date, turns away other couples, and prepares staff and resources for your wedding. If you cancel — even for reasons completely out of your control — the venue has already lost income and opportunities. This is why deposits are non-refundable and cancellation policies are clearly outlined in contracts.

In short: venues are protecting their livelihood, not rejecting your hardship. It’s not personal — it’s standard business practice.

The average wedding now costs $38,000.
If you spent that on a car, you wouldn’t drive it uninsured — and if you crashed it, you wouldn’t expect the car company to give you a new one.

Your wedding is no different.
If something goes wrong — illness, break-up, last-minute cancellation — it’s not your venue’s job to refund you.

That’s why wedding insurance matters.
Small cost. Big protection. Peace of mind.

I’ve always loved flowers. At one point, I even dreamed of owning a little florist shop in France, and it’s still my dream to retire there one day. With my father being Italian and my mother Dutch, Europe has always felt like home to me. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the world and see so many incredible flowers in all their forms and colours.

So when the opportunity came to style and create the floral arrangements for our very first Winter Weddings package at Chapter Barn, I was nervous—but I also trusted the blood that runs through my veins. Something told me to lean into that heritage, that love, that dream I’ve carried for so long.

I’m really proud of what I created. This was a big step for me—one that felt bold and personal. And I hope it shows in every bouquet, every table, every moment.

So what do you think? Did I impress you?
