This felt like a pretty big little moment today 🥹🐾

Griffin’s confidence is growing more and more as he settles in and realises that this is home. ❤️

Today, for the first time, he ventured right down into the backyard all by himself. No following us, no checking that we were right beside him… just Griffin off on his own little adventure.

He wandered around checking out the boundaries, investigated the bee hives 🐝, sniffed his way around the garden and generally had a good stickybeak at everything.

We get quite a few deer wandering through our backyard too, so I’m pretty sure there were LOTS of interesting smells to investigate. 🦌😂

It might not seem like a huge deal, but for a boy who, only a few weeks ago, didn’t really want to be outside unless one of us was with him, it’s lovely to see. 🥹

Every day he seems a little more relaxed, a little more curious and a little more certain that this is his home now too. ❤️

And apparently today he decided the backyard was officially part of his kingdom.

Things I never thought I’d do… vacuum the dog. 😂

All our dogs in the past have been outdoor dogs, so having Griffin living inside with us has been a whole new experience.

And with 76kg of Newfoundland comes a LOT of fur. 😳

I’m slightly paranoid about the house smelling “doggy” or finding giant Griffin tumbleweeds rolling through every room, so I’m learning a few tricks very quickly.

This vacuum attachment might be my favourite so far. It brushes Griffin while sucking all that loose fur straight into the vacuum, rather than letting it float around the house waiting for me to vacuum it up later.

Thankfully, Griffin seems quite happy to lay there and enjoy his personal grooming service.

And my other little trick… I pop just a tiny sprinkle of Scentsy Washer Whiffs into the vacuum cylinder. As I vacuum, it makes the house smell lovely at the same time. 🙌

So apparently this is my life now…

Vacuum the floors.
Vacuum the furniture.
Vacuum the dog.

Then start again tomorrow. 😂🐻

I’d like to officially report that Griffin has run out of battery.

We got home from our walk and this is where he landed… completely pancaked across the floor like a giant black bear rug.

I tried talking to him.
Nothing.

Called his name.
Nothing.

I couldn’t even get a TAIL WAG out of him. 😂

Apparently being a 76kg Newfoundland is absolutely exhausting work.

Walk: completed ✅
Griffin: 0% battery 🪫🐻

Give him a few hours and I’m sure he’ll miraculously recover the second someone mentions treats.

Hot pink, pastel pink and flower-shaped… this one was always going to be pretty. 🌸💕

We created these custom acrylic drink tags for L’Oréal Paris, mixing bold hot pink with the sweetest soft pink, finished with their branding and “because you’re worth it”. ✨

Such a simple little detail, but once they’re sitting pretty on a glass, they completely transform the look of an event.

And yes… I absolutely love seeing Little Dance pieces out there for brands like this. 💗

Taking a tiny break from the Griffin content this morning to remind you that I have actually still been working while our giant 76kg shadow settles into life with us 😂🐾

And this one was too fun not to share.

A different take on our girl-in-a-glass cake topper, swapping the martini glass for a fabulous hurricane glass 🍹✨

She’s perched on the edge, cocktail umbrella in hand, ready to celebrate… with the birthday number added for that extra personalised touch.

Don’t worry, Griffin will no doubt resume his regularly scheduled takeover shortly. 😂

But for now… a little Little Dance back in your feed. 💕

I’m becoming more and more convinced Griffin understands absolutely everything we say… he just chooses when to acknowledge it. 😂

He was happily chatting away to me, answering back in his usual little grumbles and noises, so I thought I’d test the theory.

“Would you like a treat?”

Well… suddenly we’re listening. 👀😂

I told him if he wanted one, he needed to go to his bed.

And off he went. Straight to bed. No hesitation. Sat there waiting for his reward like the perfect boy.

So there we have it.

Griffin DOES understand me.

He hasn’t been ignoring us all this time… he’s been carefully reviewing each request and deciding whether it meets his snack-based criteria.

Apparently, 76kg of Newfoundland can hear a treat wrapper from three rooms away, but somehow can’t hear his name when it’s time to move. ❤️

Selective hearing? No. Selective cooperation. And the price of admission is snacks.

Meanwhile, Griff’s contribution today?

Stretching his 76kg body across the entire three-seater lounge while I vacuum up HIS fur. 😂

Then, just as I finished, he actually shuffled himself over.

“Are you making room for me?”

Turns out he was. 🥹❤️

So yes… my days are now running Little Dance, getting orders out, vacuuming fur, mopping slobber, washing everything in sight and generally cleaning up after one very large, very fluffy housemate.

But when he moves over so I can sit beside him at the end of it all… I think I’ve got a pretty good deal. ❤️🐾

BBQ night has always come with a four-legged supervisor in our family… and now it’s Griffin’s turn. 🥹🐾

Our pups have always known that when the BBQ comes out, their job is very important: stay close, keep a VERY watchful eye on proceedings and make sure absolutely nothing goes to waste. 😂🥩

Tonight our new partner in crime officially took up the position… and I think it’s safe to say Griff understands the assignment.

There’s something really lovely about watching him slowly become part of all our little family traditions. The ordinary things that our dogs have always been part of… now he gets to be part of too. ❤️

Welcome to BBQ night, Griff. We have a feeling you’re going to enjoy this tradition very much. 😂🐻‍❄️

We thought we’d take Griffin to the dog wash for a nice, quick bath.

And to be fair… Griffin was an absolute angel. 😂

He stood there patiently, let us wash him, didn’t make a fuss and generally behaved like the perfect gentleman.

The humans, however…

💦 Soaked.
💦 Clothes drenched.
💦 Water everywhere.
💦 Questioning our technique.

Somehow we went in to wash ONE dog and came out looking like all three of us had been through the dog wash. 😂

Griffin? Clean, fluffy and smelling magnificent.

Us? Just wet.

Turns out washing 76kg of Newfoundland is very much a team sport. 😂
