As well as being a thriving catering service, the Cookery Nook is an Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE), providing meaningful employment for people with intellectual disabilities who may not have access to mainstream job opportunities. Not only does our team create delicious food from fresh, local produce and deliver it to your door, we demonstrate a workplace culture where everyone feels welcome, supported and empowered. This can have significant positive effects on self-esteem and sense of purpose. We started this social enterprise knowing it would change lives. For many in our team, the new skills, experience, and confidence they gain with us will be a valuable stepping-stone to other work in the hospitality industry and beyond.
