We have a COVID-Safety Plan and are registered as a COVID-Safe business, so all our groups and services operate in a COVID safe way. So please contact or visit us if you would like to find out about any of our groups or services! What can you do here?

Halloween disco for families with children and young people! This Saturday from 5pm-9pm at North Richmond Community Centre! Music, dancing, games, food and more! Free family event!

Dementia - Let's talk about it! Last week we welcomed a guest speaker from Dementia Australia to our Cafe Connections - thank you very much to Peter and Bob for organising. A very informative and interesting session, with the opportunity to meet some local service providers afterwards as well, a very worthwhile morning!

It's started! This morning we handed over the keys to the Youth Centre to Council, the fences are up, and the work is beginning! Thank you to everyone who came and rescued some plants from the garden around the centre before it was fenced off.
Current tentative completion date is estimated to be end of June 2027 for the Youth Centre extensions and additions to be better able to function as an evacuation centre. Until then all groups are continuing in the Community Centre!
A little bit of a sad farewell, as many happy memories were made there! But we're looking forward to completion - exciting times ahead!

This Wednesday at our Cafe Connections: Dementia - let's talk about it!
It's part of our usual Wednesday morning Cafe, so there will be free morning tea as usual, and then the opportunity to listen to a talk about Dementia by staff from Dementia Training Australia.
No need to book, just come along.
To allow for more people than usual at our cafe we will be in hall 1 that morning instead of the foyer, so there will be plenty of space!

Would anyone like some free plants?
The gardens around the Youth Centre will be part of the renovation area, and there are a few nice lavender and agapanthus plants to be rescued! Or any of the little bushes if anyone wants them. There’s also some rosemary and a few other plants.
Feel free to dig anything out or to take cuttings! The gardens will be fenced off next week when the builders arrive, so you’ll have to come before Tuesday. BYO equipment 😊
Please note: ONLY the plants around the Youth Centre. NOT the Community Centre! 😊

Exciting times are starting!
Here's a beautiful recap from Susan Templeman MP about the long wait for a purpose-built evacuation centre on our side of the river! North Richmond Community Centre has served as evacuation centre many times during the last decade, and we still remember well when Susan brought Murray Watt, the Minister for Disaster and Emergency Management around to show him how urgently this centre needed an upgrade to better support the community during disasters! All we were asking for at the time was showers, upgraded bathrooms, a better equipped kitchen and some more space!
So through this campaign Susan secured 2.5 Million Dollars for the upgrades.
Then a few months later Council received a state grant to upgrade the whole Community Hub!
So on the 6th of October the works will finally begin! And we are very much looking forward to a bigger and better building, which will serve as evacuation centre during times of disaster, and during normal operations will be used as a Youth centre again! In the meantime the Youth service and all groups who used the centre are being accommodated in the Community Centre!

We would like to invite you to our upcoming Annual General Meeting on Thursday the 8th of October at 6pm!
If you are a local you may find it interesting to hear about the wonderful things that have happened at our Centre during the year, but also what is about to happen! Our guest speaker Leanne Miller-Bassett from Hawkesbury Council will give us an update on the upcoming developments here at the centre!

That was our Biggest Morning Tea at North Richmond Community Centre, and our biggest one ever! Around 100 people attended this fabulous fun morning and helped raise funds for the Cancer Council! In addition to the delicious morning tea, we had a karaoke style singalong of ABBA songs and the greatest hits of the 70s, lots of dancing, a performance of some 70s songs in 4-part harmony by Riverland Harmony Chorus, a raffle, musical quizzes, and a big garage sale in the foyer, with no set prices, but with all donations made on the day going to the Cancer Council as well.
So all in all we raised $1140!!!😍
Thank you all for coming, donating, singing, dressing up and being part of it - we hope you had a great time!!!
Thank you to our team, and especially our volunteers, without whom such events would not be possible!
Thank you to Riverland Harmony Chorus for the great harmonies! 🎶
Thank you to our longstanding cafe visitor and photographer Jack Drake for the photos!
Last but not least we would like to say a big thank you to the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall congregation across the road, who allowed us to use their car park for the event! This was a crucial contribution to the success of the event, as with the current construction works in the car park the parking at the Community Centre would by far not have been enough and we would not have had so many people be able to attend!
