Day for it

Something = who knows. Maybe just some motivation to finish and release some stuff. Maybe some feedback to not bother.

What do you guys think - finish/ release this?

Another musical highlight from last year - was very late in the game though :)

My good mate and label partner D-Funk said it best:
Grits N Gravy: 15 Years of Funk is out now across all sites & platforms! (Link to mix compilation in comments section)

'We can hardly believe it, but 15 years have passed since Grits N Gravy was born in 2010—a meeting of minds between Perth's Philly Blunt and Sydney's D-Funk. What started as a side project has blossomed into a bonafide independent label, sharing funky music with fans across the globe!

To celebrate this massive milestone, we’ve taken on the challenge of distilling 26 releases and 93 tracks into one definitive set: 'The Sound of Grits N Gravy: 15 years of Funk.

A Global, Genre-Spanning Journey.

This isn't just a collection of our greatest hits; it’s a journey through the sounds that define our legacy. Together D-Funk & Philly Blunt have curated 19 of our favourites, carefully balanced to showcase our funky focus across multiple genres. From foundational classics, a revisit to the first tunes we ever put out ‘The Boss’ & ‘The Jam’. Feel the warm reggae-infused vibe of DJ Maars remix of Tom Showtime’s ‘Funk Pants’. Label classics like Sugar Ray Johnson & D-Funk’s soul & disco fusion ’Save Me’ and the exquisite funky breaks remix of Eat More Cake's ‘Teardrops’. Future disco sounds from Smokey Montrose’s mix of ‘Popsicles’ by and Latin-inspired 2 step garage of D-Funk’s ‘Touch Me’. The mix comes to a high energy close with DiCE_NZ’s stunning mix of ‘You’ by Mr Doris & D-Funk with ‘Came To Jack’ a solo DnB effort from D-Funk rounding things off.

Over 15 years, we’ve released music from talented artists spanning Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the UK, Hungary, Ibiza, and Denmark. We’ve hit multiple #1 spots and even won Best Label at the Perth Dance Music Awards in our launch year!
This mix is a true testament to our achievement and the independent spirit that started it all.'

Ladies and gentlemen, crank the volume up. This is the sound of Grits N Gravy.
