UNSCHEDULED UPDATE 30 JUNE 2020
Announcements have just been made regarding Stage 3 of Easing of Restrictions and our borders and I will summarise as best as possible!
BORDERS - Our border will open to all states except Victoria on 10 July at 12noon due to the rate of public transmission in Victoria. In addition to the border remaining closed to Victoria, as of 12pm this Friday 3 July, ANYONE whether QLD resident or non-QLD resident, arriving at the QLD border who has been to Victoria within the last 14 days, will either be turned away or will be required to go into mandatory quarantine in a hotel in Brisbane at their own expense. Enhanced border control measures will be introduced including border passes and identification screening. There will also be a border declaration required to state that you have not been to Victoria within the last 14days, with the penalty for falsifying this document of up to $4000. QLD residents have been advised today that they must NOT travel to Victoria. The Chief Health Officer will review levels of community transmission and may impose additional restrictions should new hot spots occur.
