Well my three weddings in four days have now been completed. It is amazing how every wedding can be soo different. But each had their cute factor… wedding one had a gorgeous dog who was super friendly and just wanted to walk his mum down the aisle, wedding two also had a gorgeous dog but he decided to do a runner out the front of the house prior to the wedding which his dad didn’t really need. And then the third was the children, I love weddings with children

With COVID things have been very quiet over the past 12 months or so and therefore I was thinking maybe I wouldn’t reregister as it is a huge cost with registration, opd, and association fees. Well looks like I am going to stay registered after having 6 enquiries over the past 2 weeks and 5 have confirmed dates, 3 within the next month.

Thanks everyone who have booked me for their wedding, or given my name to prospective couples.

Monday last week I did something I never expected to do as a Celebrant and that was a funeral. One of my best friends lost her husband unexpectedly and rang me and asked as a Marriage Celebrant if I could do funerals. I said anyone can do a funeral, you don’t need to be qualified to do it. So she asked me if I would do her husbands. Of course I said yes as she is my friend and I would do anything to help her at this time. But then I had to start thinking about everything, I had never intended on doing funerals even though there are always courses offered when I do my yearly opd. Thankfully the association I belong to is always very helpful so they told me rough where to go to find info on how to do a service. Then once I had written it I had a couple of other celebrants look it over for me. Apparently it was pretty good for a first go and just needed a couple of changes. I wasn’t sure how I would go emotionally either as I can be a bit of a sook and a real ugly crier. Lol. But thankfully when it came time to stand up and deliver the service I found the emotion didn’t come in the way I thought it would. Ok I did a couple of fluffs like saying he had been involved in the Speedway for thirty decades instead of three lol.

But in doing the research I found a poem and there was a couple of lines in it that I think really touched me... on a headstone there are two dates with a dash in between. The first date is the day we arrived into the world and the second date is the day we departed. But the most important part of those dates is the dash as that is what you brought to the world.

So make the most of your life and make sure your dash is a big one

Congratulations to Alyce and Adrian who got married yesterday at the Marlee Pavilion in Kings Park. Don’t really have long enough arms for selfies. Lol. Thanks for allowing me to marry you in the big smoke.

This was my fourth wedding in 2 1/2 weeks and each were so totally different. How lucky am I that 6 years on every wedding is still a learning curve and exciting
