We can’t wait for this lovely community choir to start at Rasa. We just love that Chris is such a gentle and patient teacher, helping bring out the musical voice of each person who comes along. Petrichor really suits the heart pf our mission here at Rasa, with its focus on everyone’s individual creative voice being of value and the support it offers to help everyone find their own voice.

High Sierra - 25th September 7.30pm

High Sierra shares vulnerable and wry stories of ordinary troubles. Surviving but not thriving, treading water, and life in suburbia. Sung in the warmth of three-part harmony and gentle guitar with her close friends Abigail Wighton and Isobel Knight.

Comprising three acclaimed Australian singer-songwriters: Gracie Jean, Isobel Knight, and Abigail Wighton, High Sierra are the freshest folk sweethearts to hit the Sydney music community. Weaving lush three-part harmonies around vulnerable Americana songwriting, the trio encapsulate honesty and vulnerability that sticks long after the drive home.

Open Mic - 27th September 3-5pm

Come along to our all ages Open Mic afternoon on the last Sunday of the month at 3pm. Tea provided, bring your own food or snacks if you wish.

Rasa Lila Arts is a community arts space in Mulubinba, Newcastle that aims to provide a safe and inclusive space for creative pursuits. Our Open Mic afternoon is a time for everyone to get up and share their creative journey, no matter what your ability or age you are welcome to share your voice with us.

You can bring a song or a poem, a short story or even half a song, we would love to hear what you have created and share in your creative journey.

You can also come along and simply enjoy the afternoon, and encourage your friends or family, or even just watch as you build the courage to one day get up and share your own song.

3pm onwards – Register or make a small donation towards the creative village at Rasa Lila Arts so we can continue to provide free inclusive community events.

Join us on September 26 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm for an enchanting evening of springtime songwriter vibes at Rasa, accompanied by delectable soup. Doors open at 6:00 pm, with music commencing at 6:30 pm. This exceptional event features three talented artists: Oliver Downes, celebrating the release of his latest album 'While The Sun Shines'; Emily-Rose & The Wild, a Sydney-based contemporary folk artist known for her experimental and environmentally conscious music; and Jono B Smith, a Newcastle-based songwriter with a unique blend of styles. Each artist brings their distinctive sound and style, promising an unforgettable evening of music and entertainment.
