Paul + Kish

“Adam was, quite simply, exceptional.
An effortless 11/10.

From our very first conversation, it was clear Adam wasn’t just a celebrant or MC. He deeply understands people, energy, timing, and how to hold a room with warmth and intelligence. We wanted someone genuinely funny, who understood our vibe, could make people laugh, keep the day flowing beautifully, and still make sure the spotlight stayed exactly where it should. Adam did this flawlessly.

In the lead-up to the wedding, Adam met with us multiple times, over Zoom and in person over coffee, and never once made us feel rushed or like we were just another booking in a busy calendar. He helped Paul and I with our vows, thoughtfully reviewed them, and gave guidance that elevated them while still keeping our voices entirely our own.

On the day itself, Adam was with us for both the ceremony and the reception as MC, and he brought the same calm confidence, humour and emotional intelligence to every part of the day. He worked seamlessly with our photographer and wedding coordinator, anticipating moments, keeping everything running smoothly, and helping create space for the memories that mattered most, often before we even realised they were happening.

What truly sets Adam apart is how much he cares. Despite doing weddings every weekend and being in incredibly high demand, he made us feel completely seen. This never felt like “just another wedding.” It felt intentional, personal and deeply considered. He had great moves on our dance floor. We genuinely felt honoured to have him play such a central role in one of the most important days of our lives.

And a final detail that perfectly sums Adam up. We had a block-colour pastel dress code (trust the g**s to have a theme), and Adam sent us photos of every pastel suit he owns (so many choices) and asked which one we’d like him to wear. Thoughtful, playful and impeccably on brand.

We love Adam and couldn’t recommend him more highly. If you’re looking for a celebrant and MC who is funny, eloquent, calm, professional, emotionally intelligent and an all-round exceptional human, book him. Immediately. Much love, Kish & Paul”

1. I did my 500th wedding.
2. This slightly embarrassing video is from when I was training to be a celebrant and had to practice by fake marrying my housemates.
Amy and Rhys were legally unmarried but emotionally very committed to the bit.
3. 8 years later, Amy stood in front of me again. This time marrying Roscoe. My 500th wedding. Pretty cool full circle moment.
4. Another slightly embarrassing video of my first ever legit wedding, announcing to my family that I had lied to them and I was a real celebrant.

Picture 1: Actual footage of me receiving yet another wedding enquiry for a date I’m already booked.
Picture 2: Again, totally real footage of me when the enquiry is for a date I’m actually free.

I seriously get a giddy feeling when a new enquiry comes in but most of the time I’m sending emails that start with “Ahh I’m so sorry but I’m already booked…”

So here’s your gentle, slightly desperate PSA:
If you want me at your wedding, get in early.

Future-you will be smug. Future-me won’t be crying into his colourful shirt. Let’s not make future me do the sad stool pose again

Hi, I’m Adam.

(Yes, the wink was intentional. No, I cannot wink with the other eye. *wink* I can! Double bluff… Confused? Sorry, stick with me.)

If we haven’t met, I’m a celebrant. What that actually means depends on the two of you and the weird, beautiful vibe we create together.

I write every ceremony from scratch, and then I usually throw half of it out on the day, because the vibe in the room always tells me more than a Google Doc I wrote last Tuesday ever could. If old mate’s heckling, we’re leaning in. If someone’s already crying in row three, I’ve clocked them. If you’re nervous, don’t worry, I’ll be the calm, weird, moustachioed presence you didn’t know you needed.

I love a good story, a well-timed pause, and finding the perfect mix of funny and heartfelt, the kind of ceremony where people laugh, cry, and then turn to each other and say, “Well. S**t. How good are weddings?”

A few things you should know about me:
– I have mad ADHD, which means I’m fuelled by ideas, feelings, snacks, and mild chaos.
– I love to run, I’ll probably do it the morning of your wedding day to think about you lots (cute).
– I love medical dramas, but I do need Ange to tell me when the gross scary bits are over.
– I’m always chasing that sweet spot between a big laugh and a big lump-in-the-throat moment, and when we hit it, oof, magic.

Outside of weddings, I’m a parent to Iggy and Bowie, if we have a Zoom, you’ll probably meet them (sorry in advance). I love a bold shirt, a bold idea, and a bold finish to a sentence.

If you’re getting married and want someone who’ll actually get you in a fun, warm, deeply personal and just a little unpredictable way, I’d love to be part of it.

They said, “We want a giant spinning wheel with everyone’s name on it.”

I said, “There are 140 guests.”

They said, “We know.”

Enter: The Wheel.

A love letter to Luke’s love of game shows (mostly Wheel of Fortune, I’m assuming) and Laura’s incredible theatre company owning family (who, bless them, made the impossible… spin). A gloriously oversized, gorgeously painted, borderline theatrical centrepiece of their wedding.

We first unveiled it during the wedding to decide their surprise witness, a dramatic moment made all the more iconic by the giant sheet reveal (I’ve always wanted to do a sheet reveal). But because it had taken literal blood, sweat, tears, and at least four people with theatre degrees to construct, Laura and Luke were absolutely not going to let it be a one-spin wonder.

So we kept spinning it.

To choose an impromptu speech-giver (who delivered a heartfelt, wildly inappropriate call for more married s*x, truly inspiring, thanks Liz).

To appoint one unsuspecting groomsman as a butler for the night (he nailed it, napkin over an arm and all).

To pick the final song on the dance floor (I believe nanna picked You’re The Voice, well done Judi)

And (my favourite) to help cut the cake - where we created a temporary, frosting-covered throuple for the honour. See the last slide, it’s glorious.

It was ridiculous. It was fabulous. It was so them.

More weddings should have a wheel. That is all.

Kate and Ben first met just before Kate went to see Justin Bieber live (a spiritual experience in its own right), and their first date ended not at a fine dining beachfront restaurant, but at Macca’s with a 20 pack of nugs. Soulmates, obviously.

And now, they’re married. No nugs in sight… unfortunately.

Also, someone please confirm if Ben did, in fact, keep his promise not to drive like Daniel Ricciardo around Melbourne anymore?

The Oaks, Neutral Bay—a place where love stories bloom on its sticky floors, and Julia and Jamie’s was no exception. It was one of those evenings where the air felt charged with possibility. Butterflies in their stomachs, they met for the very first time.

What could possibly go wrong? (Oh no, Adam, not foreshadowing!)

Jamie’s eyes caught her from across the room. She had on these quirky pencil and ruler earrings that screamed “I’m a teacher,” and, honestly, he was intrigued. Then he noticed her eyes—kind, sparkling, and absolutely captivating. That was it. He was a goner before they even exchanged a word.

Julia’s first impression? Well, it was a little more pragmatic: “Hmm, he’s got a few more grey hairs than I expected.” But beneath those salt-and-pepper strands, she quickly discovered someone kind, generous, and endlessly fascinating. The kind of person you could talk to for hours… and that’s exactly what they did.

What started as a casual drink turned into a marathon of connection. Four hours of laughter, stories, and the kind of effortless conversation that makes time feel irrelevant. They were on cloud nine, both silently wondering if they had just stumbled upon something extraordinary. And then…

As they left The Oaks and said their goodbyes, the plot thickened. Enter: butter chicken. Outside the iconic curry palace across the road, Julia’s foot met fate (or sauce), and she went down… right into an orange, buttery mess on the pavement. There she was, sitting in the aftermath of her dinner’s untimely escape, thinking, “Well, this is it. No way he’s calling me after this.”

But Jamie? He didn’t see a woman who’d just taken a tumble into curry (well he did, but figuratively speaking, he didn’t). He saw someone he couldn’t wait to see again. They laughed it off, because what else can you do when life throws naan at your feet?

And then they get married.

At the Curry Palace.

Nah, jks.

Every wedding is a privilege to be part of, but being asked to be the celebrant at a fellow vendor’s wedding? Now, that’s a whole different level of honour. When Adam (not me), an incredible photographer ( , go give him a follow), and his now-wife, the amazing Bekk, asked me to play such a big role in their day, I felt a mix of excitement, gratitude, and… let’s be honest, a little nervous energy too. I poo’d and then I was fine.

Let’s face it—vendors like Adam and Bekk know this industry inside out. They’ve seen countless ceremonies, worked alongside so many celebrants, and witnessed how these moments unfold from behind the lens. So, when they chose me to stand front and centre with them, it was both humbling and exhilarating. It’s not every day you get to play a part in the story of someone who’ve made a career out of capturing them.

And let me tell you, these two absolute legends made it easy. Adam and Bekk are a dream team—the kind of people who radiate warmth, creativity, and pure, undeniable love for each other. It’s no wonder they’re so loved in the industry and beyond.

And yes, Adam (the other Adam) did have a few moments during the ceremony where he put his vendor hat on. He fluffed the dress, he made sure they were centred, old mate knows the angles.

Thank you for letting me be part of your day. It was an honour, a privilege, and yes, a little bit of a thrill to know that even the industry pros trust me to bring my A-game.
