Empathy…
The beauty of empathy is how it grounds us. It creates a pathway to a deeper understanding of the needs of others when they need it the most. It takes us out of ‘our self’ and into a higher level of emotional intelligence – but be sure to honor your boundaries (it's tricky) and remain outside their pain because it isn’t ours.
Then we are able to be there, show up for support, lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on in clarity without jeopardizing anyone’s integrity. This is a win/win.
