Yes!! Can't stand this tacky awful stuff. Any old fabric will do instead - we love using calico, cheescloth, plain cotton, old lace tablecloths, shawls etc. Gives it an old haunted mansion look and is easy to pack away for next year.
Halloween is almost here, and while decorating can be lots of fun, some decorations can be deadly for our wildlife 🎃🕸️
Synthetic spiderweb might look spooky, but its fine, stretchy fibres are almost impossible for small animals to escape. Birds, microbats, lizards and frogs can become badly tangled, and the more they struggle, the tighter it gets. Sadly, many aren't found in time 💔
A reminder for all of us:
🕸️ Skip the fake webbing, especially outdoors on trees, shrubs and fences
🎃 Choose wildlife-safe decorations like pumpkins, lanterns or paper cut-outs
🙌 Take all decorations down once the celebrations are over
If you find an animal caught in webbing, please don't try to pull it free. Keep it calm and quiet, and call us straight away so a trained rescuer can help. Every minute counts 🐾
