To my clients,
I know the ongoing situation in the Middle East might be causing understandable concern, especially among travellers flying to or via this region. I’d like to reassure you that we at TravelManagers Australia are closely monitoring this fluid situation, and I’m here to help.
Here's what you need to know right now:
1. The Australian Travel Industry Association’s CEO Dean Long is advising travellers not to cancel unless absolutely necessary. Voluntary cancellations can reduce your refund and rebooking rights.
2. Some airlines have made temporary changes to routes. Qatar Airways’ flights were reinstated this morning, two hours after suspending operations.
3. The closure of airspace is not new. Airlines have been rerouting around Russia and Ukraine for more than two years, and are now adjusting again. Airlines that fly to Australia have world-leading safety protocols and route management.
4. If you're travelling in the next 72 hours, I'll be in touch with any updates relevant to your booking. If your trip is later, there's no need to act now. We’re keeping watch and I will let you know if anything changes.
Most importantly, you’re not on your own. I’m here to help you make informed decisions and guide you through any changes. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Pam
