By July 2016, they had begun dating. When I asked about the first date, I got a very vague answer about a dinner with friends followed by a walk along the beach... maybe? There is one detail Lara is sure on; Tom made the first move.
On the 7th of July 2016, after about five months of dating, and because Tom isn’t too fond of big relationship conversations, he went with a classic, “Should we make this Facebook official?” And just like that, it was locked in.

In Maddi’s words, “ It was confusing, because I’d just done all this mental gymnastics to figure out my feelings, and then suddenly he looked like a member of a boy band.”

It was October 2024, and they decided to head to Port Macquarie during school holidays. The forecast was beautiful, and Michael had this idea of riding bikes to the lighthouse where they could look over the water and just maybe, he would find himself on one knee.

Let me tell you how that plan went. Sophie’s chain came off three times in the first kilometre. Meanwhile, Michael was popping wheelies riding on his bike. They got to the top of the second hill and Sophie said, “I’m not going any further”.

The next day after another failed attempt of going to lighthouse, they saw a bushwalk. As they stepped along the path, Sophie asked, “What are we going to do today?’. Michael looked around - they were surrounded by trees and finally it was just the two of them. He seized the moment and responded, “I know something we can do”, and dropped to one knee.

If you know Season 1 of Teen Wolf, you’ll remember when Dylan O’Brien has his head shaved - well, according to Nat, this guy looked just like that - and thought he was pretty hot.

Alex was out with his mate Jonty when he saw a girl checking out his dance moves. Before Nat knew it, this Dylan O’Brien-Teen Wolf-Season 1-lookalike was trying to dance with her.

His moves? Terrible. But they made her laugh.

This time they were all in, but just to make sure, the universe was ready to put them to the test as lockdowns kicked in. Pretty quickly they became each other’s isolation buddies which meant they were seeing each other most days.

In May 2021, they moved in together and were thrown into another lockdown, but it never phased Amelia and Marcus. They had fun playing games, making cocktails, virtual trivia nights with friends, and asking Alexa to turn the party lights on where in the living room turned into a dance party for two.“

After exploring Tuscany in style, zipping around the streets in a vintage Alfa-Romao Spider, they visited castles and villages, before returning to their hotel, an old 14th-century castle.

After convincing her to get dressed up for dinner, Olly led Maddie to a chapel at the back of the property. He got to one knee with the question, “Will you marry me?”

I was pretty certain about a few things I wanted for our wedding, and the rest fell into place. Here are all the things I would do again in a heartbeat.

1. Spend maximum time with our guests. We took about 20 minutes getting photos with the wedding party while everyone was settling into the reception. It felt like we didn’t miss out on anything.

2. I was so in love with my bouquet, so I held onto it throughout the ceremony, thanks to for making it so beautiful.

3. I wanted the day captured exactly as it was, which included mess and babies in the photos - perfectly captured by

4. My girl Darcy as a key part of the day. She did an amazing job as the ring bearer.

5. Instead of the congratulations after the ceremony, Josh and I served drinks which meant we got to speak to all our guests.

6. Sunset shots. Look up when sunset is and schedule it in with your photographer. They are going to be better at knowing what time it is then you (as everyone says, the day is a blur).

7. A live band always makes for a good d-floor ( were amazing).

8. Ice creams for desert. Drumsticks, Magnums and Gaytimes 10/10.

9. Getting married in a small town (Scotts Head). Everytime you walked down the street you’d run into half the wedding guests. It was such a beautiful weekend.

10. Big wedding party! Having six of my best friends with me on the day was incredible. Even if you have no wedding party, still surround yourself with your friends while getting ready.
