What’s better than 2 rad independent record stores in one city? What about 2 rad record stores joining forces to build one of the biggest and raddest record stores ever? Well… Let’s truck around and find out!!! We are incredibly excited to announce that come October Rudderless Records will close its doors to join forces with our friends in Wallsend, the mad cats at Hiss & Crackle. Yep, you heard it right, H&C and Rudderless Records are merging. It means more buying power to source more and better records, CDs and music collectables, more in-stores, longer trading hours, more markets, more merch, more label releases and heaps, heaps more. Trust us when we say it’s gonna be an absolute bloody ripper. AND to say thank you to all our loyal patrons we are giving away a brand new Pro-Ject Primary E Phono turntable. Every $50 spent between now and when we close will get you a chance to WIN!! It is sad to come to the end of what has been such an incredible love in of music, beautiful friends and good times, and in an age where ecommerce and digital streaming continue to devalue real music culture we’re incredibly proud to have withstood some crazy stuff but some opportunities are just too good to pass up. And by joining together it means we’re able to better ensure the longevity of a wonderful independent, bricks and mortar record store. So if you’re not already following go check em (errr… us) out.
