Your mate might be brilliant company. That doesn’t automatically make them your wedding photographer. 👀

Hiring friends can work beautifully, but be clear about payment, expectations and whether they’re there to work or celebrate. (My amazing friends shot my wedding and having them there was so much fun. We both had our expectations and boundaries in place)

Friendship is not a substitute for a contract. And “don’t worry, I’ve got it” is not a booking confirmation. Also, don’t assume mates rates.. this is their bread and butter and if they’re a sole trader, they are likely working their ass off, so support them properly!!

🚐 Wedding Therapy: Guest Transport!

You’ve thought about how your guests will get to your wedding… but have you thought about how they’ll get home? 🍷

Especially for those gorgeous hinterland weddings where Ubers and taxis aren’t always readily available!

A shuttle bus can be a fantastic option, but even if you’re not providing transport, make sure your guests know their options well in advance.

A little planning goes a long way towards keeping everyone safe, happy and stress-free.

Because nobody wants to end a fabulous wedding stranded on the side of a country road! 😂

Weddings bring people together... but sometimes they bring a whole lot of family baggage too. 😅

Divorced parents, estranged relatives, unsolicited opinions and complicated relationships can make wedding planning feel like an emotional obstacle course.

Here’s your reminder: You can be thoughtful, kind and considerate without sacrificing your own happiness to keep everyone else comfortable.

Boundaries aren’t selfish. They’re sometimes exactly what’s needed to keep the day about what really matters. ❤️

☔ **Wedding Therapy: Let’s talk about wet weather!**

Rain on your wedding day? Not ideal, but definitely not the disaster you might think it is!

Here’s the thing: you can’t control the weather, but you CAN control how prepared you are for it.

Have a solid Plan B, make sure your suppliers are across it, and most importantly, don’t spend your wedding morning obsessively refreshing the weather app! 🌦️

Some of the most beautiful, memorable weddings happen when things don’t go exactly to plan.

**A little rain doesn’t ruin a wedding. A lack of planning might!** 😉

Wedding Therapy 🍽️ Let’s talk about vendor meals.

Yes, you need to feed your vendors.

If your photographer, videographer, planner, DJ or other suppliers are working through your reception, they’re humans… and humans require food. 😂

But here’s the bit couples often don’t realise: vendor meals don’t necessarily need to be the same meal your guests are having. Many venues offer a simpler, cheaper crew meal, so ask the question before adding everyone to your full catering package.

And please, please make sure your vendors are fed at a sensible time. Your photographer can’t photograph the speeches if their dinner arrives during the speeches.

Feed the people keeping your wedding running. ❤️

Your guests actually need to hear your ceremony.

If you’ve got more than a handful of guests, you’re outdoors, there’s wind, waves, traffic or general background noise… please consider proper ceremony sound.

Because your vows might be intimate, but they shouldn’t be inaudible. 😂
