Both roles are important, but they are not interchangeable.

This isn’t to scare you, but knowing what things actually cost before you start booking can save you a lot of stress later.

Wedding favours? Cute. Necessary? Absolutely not.

Most guests are not leaving your wedding thinking, “Beautiful ceremony, incredible food… but where’s my tiny personalised candle?” 😂

If you genuinely love the idea of favours, go for it. Something edible, useful or meaningful can be a gorgeous little touch. Like the mini tambourines my last client had!

But if you’re adding them because they’re sitting on some imaginary wedding checklist, save your money.

Your guests are already getting the favour: a beautiful day, food, drinks, entertainment and the privilege of witnessing you marry your person.

And trust me… you do not want to be packing 47 leftover stubby coolers into your car at midnight.

Wedding Therapy verdict: Nice to have. Definitely not a need to have. 🤍

You do NOT need to entertain your wedding guests every second of the day. They’re adults. They can have a drink and talk to each other. 😂

Lawn games, photo booths, audio guest books, magicians, live artists, roaming entertainment… they can all be really fun additions, but they’re nice-to-haves, not wedding essentials.

If you love the idea and it fits the budget? Absolutely go for it.

But if you’re adding entertainment because you’re worried your guests might get bored, save your money.

Good food, drinks, music and good people will do a lot of the heavy lifting.

Spend the extra money on the things that actually matter to you. 🤍

🌸 FAKE FLOWERS? I’M HERE FOR THEM.

If the thought of faux flowers makes you picture dusty plastic roses from 1997… we need to talk. 😂

Good quality faux florals can look bloody incredible, and for some weddings they make SO much sense.

They won’t wilt in the heat.
They’re not dictated by what’s in season.
You know exactly what they’ll look like on the day.
They can be set up well ahead of time.
And you can actually keep them afterwards.

Are they always cheaper? Nope. Good faux flowers can still cost money, especially when you factor in design, labour, installation and hire.

But if you love a big floral moment without worrying whether your peonies are going to survive a 34-degree Queensland afternoon… faux might be your friend.

And honestly? Most of your guests are not inspecting your centrepieces to see if they photosynthesise. 😂

People are often shocked by the cost of wedding flowers... but there’s a reason.

Unlike chairs, signage or tableware, flowers can’t be packed away in a warehouse until your wedding day.

Every stem has to be ordered, conditioned, prepared, arranged, transported and set up while it’s at its absolute best.

You’re not just paying for flowers.
You’re paying for fresh product, skilled floristry, hours of labour, and perfect timing.

Beautiful florals are a luxury, but once you understand everything that goes into them, the price starts to make a lot more sense.

If I got married again… I’d do the timeline completely differently. 👀

After planning hundreds of weddings, I’ve realised the “traditional” timeline isn’t always the most enjoyable one.

I’d stretch out cocktail hour.
I’d get most of the formalities done earlier.
I’d make more time to actually be with the people I love.
And I’d build the day around the experience… not the schedule.

Because the best weddings aren’t the ones that tick every tradition off the list.
They’re the ones where everyone leaves saying, “That just felt so good.”

There are no wedding police. You don’t have to do things because everyone else does.

Create a day that feels like you.
