On Thursday night Tom Haynes was selected to play his first game of AFL Seniors Football, which will be played this afternoon at 4.30pm at Bill Smyth oval in Narooma. What a remarkable journey for such a young man. Tom will be returning to the football field after suffering a cardiac arrest in June last year, he may well be the first person to be playing AFL with a Subcutaneous Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator. The road to this point has had many bumps but this is such an amazing milestone and is testimony to the strength and resilience of our son to get back to as normal a life as possible. We are so proud of him. We would like to again thank those of you who have supported us through this journey and would love to see you all this afternoon as we watch him run back onto the field at 4.30pm.

Today we installed another AED on the Far South Coast, this one in a very prominent location in Moruya. Thanks Sam Steiner of Alfresco Roasters for providing the location and the folks at Moruya Ambulance Station for doing the groundwork. Still more to install, just need more locations....

Our son Tom has handled adversity beyond his years and was today recognised by the NSW Ambulance Service for the bravery he has shown since his incident. Tom turned 18 this week thanks to those first responders who saved his life, they were also recognised today. We will be forever grateful to these individuals and hope that those community accessible AED's being installed throughout the South Coast community will one day save someone else's life.

Today we have installed another life saving AED at the Trailhead of the Narooma Mountain Bike Club. This is now the 8th installment across the Narooma, Dalmeny and Bodalla area with a further 10 to be installed once locations are identified.
