On Saturday I had the pleasure of marrying a lovely local couple. 12 years in the making 😀 As a celebrant you always try to remain professional and not get to emotional in the service. Even tho I knew what I was to say, saying it on the day even bought a tear to my eyes. Ash lost her father while in year 12 suddenly and as a honour to him they ”saved him a seat”. Her mum had been unwell so wasn’t sure if she would be able to make it - but as a surprise she was there. Her brother walked her down the aisle with her mum waiting at the front to walk with her too.
They both wrote there very own moving vows. Ash got her vows out of an envelope covered in “dust” as a symbol of how long she’s been waiting to actually say them. This had everything - tears and laughter. But what a great afternoon it was. (Do wish I took more photos tho)

On Saturday I performed a wedding literally in the bush. Lucky for the cool change during the night so wasn’t as hot as what it could have been. The bride’s grandma past away last year so they wanted to have the service on her grandparents property with her Pa walking her down the aisle. It was such a moving moment.

All weddings are unique in there own special way. However it’s not every day you hear “reception to be over by 9pm coz I’m old and need to go to bed 😀”.
Very lucky to have no rain during the service however it did shower on and off during the afternoon but that didn’t damper anyone spirits.
First time in 25 years to hold a wedding at Naracoorte Homestead and it did not disappoint.

The other week I had the pleasure of doing a wedding just out of town in the scrub. With the recent rain, having the creek flowing behind was an extra bonus. The bride arrived on a horse with her gorgeous dress draped over the side of the horse. As the reception was also at the family farm, there were plenty of signs directing the guests. Even a “tent city” was set up so guest could glam it up with them.

A couple of weeks ago I conducted another wedding out in a small country town. It was performed at the Grooms parents place in their garden. Lucky it was a late in the day wedding other wise there would have been a few burnt guests. They even had out door games to keep the kids entertained. This wedding actually was ment to happen 2 years ago but due to Covid and other reasons it never eventuated. I’m glad we were still able to work together for this wonderful day.

With Spring fast approaching, now is the time to book in for your Spring/Summer wedding. However I do need a minimum of 4 weeks notice. So, it can happen all very quickly for you if you want to make the last minute decision to do so.

I usually say there are 3 most important bookings you should do first once you have chosen your date.
1: Book me, YOUR CELEBRANT 😉
2: Book a photographer
3: Book your venue and or cater.
These are usually some of the first things that get booked out quickly so you don't want to wait incase you miss out.

I have now had a cancellation for a weekend in October. So even if its a last minute planning I can help you with that. You can even choose to elope if you don't want to worry about all the extra fuss or have just a small private intimate service. Options are endless and I am happy to work with what ever you would like.
