01/03/2026
We’re only a couple of months into 2026, but already this year, there have been a few ceremonies that have changed me. And this was definitely one. 🤍
Geoff & Kat were recently married at - and I’ve been trying to find the right words for this post since that day...
This remarkable man pictured, (Geoff) has been blind his whole life. And I say that not as a caveat, but as context - because watching the way Geoff moves through the world, with such confidence and joy, will shift something in you - as it did me.
An amazing love story precedes this wedding, but planning Geoff & Kat’s ceremony taught me more than I ever expected. With several vision-impaired guests joining the celebration, Geoff and Kat asked me to do something I’d not done before: paint a picture with words. To describe, aloud, the warmth of the late afternoon sun, the rows of vines that stretched across the property, the smell of the horses, the ancient tree we stood under (draped with six white ribbons)… so that every single person there could FEEL the magic of that moment.
And feel it, they did.
Our couple both arrived on horseback (because of course they did!), and as Kat walked down the aisle to Six Ribbons by Jon English, there wasn’t a dry eye.
Golden hour light streamed perfectly through the branches, as they exchanged wedding bands they had hand crafted, with love, from commemorative coins.
The wine flowed, and later that evening, the dance floor came alive with a salsa dance class, which (even for those of us who refrain from dancing), was such a hoot!
A day that was extraordinary in every way.
Geoff & Kat - from the bottom on my heart, thank you for letting me be part of your story, and for teaching me that the most beautiful things in life aren’t always something you see. Sometimes you just know they’re there. 🤍
