Good Morning Friends..a little update on what's been happening in my world. π
Over the past four months, I have been working towards getting corrective surgery to my arm. I researched and chose a upper limb & shoulder orthopaedic surgeon in Adelaide, had an initial appointment. Fast forward many x-rays, scans which discovered a few other potential problems, (including an genetic heart disease), more specialist visits, and the wait for my surgeon and his team to ascertain the go-ahead for surgery. On a Sunday night 3 weeks ago I received a text saying August 31st, 7.30 a.m. Flinders Private Hospital. He had organised his team to start operating earlier that day so I didn't have to wait until the end of October. I can't describe the feeling of so many emotions at once π« . So Monday I received a plate & 8 screws in my upper arm After a couple of nights in ICU because of the heart issue, I came home with some ripper bruising, quite a few stitches, a heap of painkillers, and an amazing live in nurse named Mark (former Delivery Boy). So I'm in a sling for two weeks, the stitches come out, then another four weeks of absolutely no lifting until I see my surgeon. From nurses, administrators, specialists and cleaners I have experienced only kindness, friendliness and compassion. We were fortunate enough to be able self fund this whole experience and put a badly managed medical situation behind us at last. My husband is and always will be my hero. I am truly blessed to have my beautiful family and friends also. I cant wait to give everyone big two armed π«
