China was better than I could have imagined. ❤️
The country is super busy but with a population of almost 1.5 billion people would you expect anything less!?
This was Michaels 4th visit but my first and everyone was so kind and welcoming, I became immersed in the history and the culture very quickly. It’s captivating when it’s so different from your own.
I even had a moment on the last morning in Hong Kong when I was coming back from the shopping centre and it started pouring. I had no umbrella, a lovely man with a delivery cart offered me his umbrella. It was the sweetest and we laughed and I nodded appreciatively as we literally both hovered underneath and did not speak the same language.
Highlights include
~ The nightly light show in Hong Kong viewed from the rooftop at the Mondrian hotel we stayed at. Amazing 🤩
~ Flower market street (yes a whole street!) in Hong Kong, the people are lovely and it’s a nice walk. Flowers for days - probably half the price in Australia even for florists!!
~The pandas in Macau, we arrived in the morning and headed there before the casinos and it was nearly empty. They were having a big feed 🐼 best time to visit!
- The paper fans we were gifted with our Chinese names handwritten on them at The Langham hotel, Guangzhou, so very special

- The honey prawns on North Shatan street, Beijing , literally cost $12 Australian and they were delicious! Spoke no English but that’s half the fun.
~ The Great Wall of China, the sight and the steps were incredible. I have included some pics of the bamboo scaffolding at some of the areas that were under repair. This is common use for building in China. far out!! I have no words.
~ The intricacy of the buildings and architecture in Macau and the Forbidden Temple, the history and culture is just incredible!
~ I forgot to mention Happy valley races and apparently no one wears fascinators or hats., well go figure. I stood out but who cares lol 😂
