Our new winter menu has landed at Aston Hills 🍴❄️

Our chefs have put together a menu full of proper winter comfort food! Big flavours, hearty meals and a few new dishes in there (plus some great vego options!) we reckon are going to be favourites pretty quickly.

Our clubhouse is a perfect spot for a feed after golf, a couple drinks with mates or just an excuse to get out and enjoy a good meal by the fire 🔥

SGG Pennant Results 🏆

B2 Aston Hills bounced back with a strong victory over last year’s finalists, Nairne, recording a convincing 4.5 - 2.5 win.

In tough, rainy conditions, the team played some excellent golf, highlighted by huge wins to Will and Nathan, who finished after 12 holes at 8/6 and 7/6 respectively. Dale and Don also secured important wins, while Jamie battled hard for a gutsy halve. The team now looks to continue its winning form with a trip to Murray Bridge to take on the home side on their own deck.

The C2 team faced Strathalbyn at Nairne on Sunday, with three regular team members unavailable. Trevor Johns kindly stepped in at late notice and secured what turned out to be a valuable half, while Lackie Rowell also finished square. With several matches down, things were looking grim for the team, however a late fightback from Jim Day, who recorded the narrowest of 1 up wins, along with Nathan Rowell’s strong 3 & 1 victory, reduced the final margin to a 4 - 3 loss in favour of Strathalbyn.

Next week the team takes on Echunga at Echunga in what will be another tough match, but hopefully a win is coming their way.

Whether you’re grinding over a Saturday medal round or just out there for a hit with mates, there’s not many better ways to spend a few hours.

Golf’s a frustrating game, but days at Aston Hills make it pretty easy to love 🤜🏼

Men’s SGG Pennants Results 🏆

Men’s B2

Our B2 Pennant side took on a strong Oakbank outfit at Nairne on the weekend, ultimately falling just short in a tightly contested match, 2.5 to 4.5.

The result could have gone either way, with several matches heading right down to the final hole. We got off to a great start through debutant Sam, who made an outstanding first impression in Pennant golf at number one, securing a convincing 4 & 3 victory. Clayton followed up at number two with a dominant 5 & 4 win to keep the pressure on early.

Elsewhere, matches were fiercely contested throughout the day. Nathan earned a hard-fought half, with his opponent draining a clutch birdie putt on the final hole to square the match.

While the overall result didn’t fall our way, the team showed great resilience and competitiveness against quality opposition. We’ll regroup and look ahead to the challenge of taking on South Lakes next week.

Mens C2

Our C2 Pennant side suffered a tough 6-1 loss to Murray Bridge in the opening match of the season at Strathalbyn.

Stephen McCreight and Nathan Rowell both battled hard over 18 holes to secure halves, while John Ridenour and Simon Ball narrowly went down in matches that could easily have gone the other way.

A special mention goes to Lachie Rowell, who made his Pennant debut this week. While he didn’t come away with the win, he represented the club admirably in his first appearance. It’s also great to have a father-son combination representing the club this season with Nathan and Lachie both in the side.

Next week the team takes on Strath at Nairne. Good luck to all involved.

🚨 Driving Range Upgrade Complete! ⛳

We’re excited to announce that the Aston Hills Golf Club driving range upgrade is now finished!

Thanks to funding from Aston Hills Golf Club at Mount Barker, Ben Traeger & On Course Golf, and a grant from the Mount Barker District Council, we’ve delivered a fantastic upgrade which includes:

✅ 40% more playing area
✅ 20 metres extra distance on the mats
✅ Flattened & widened the practice green
✅ Significantly improved drainage
✅ Two new target greens
✅ New safety fence for the chipping area
✅ Better visibility
✅ Creating a more inviting space for our junior and women's clinics

Thank you to H2flo Irrigation & Landscaping for the construction design, earth moving and delivery of the project, as well as all the volunteers who helped make this project possible.

Also a thank you to All Decked Out for sponsoring and building our beautiful bar tops and upgrades to the undercover areas. The range now has a cleaner, brighter and more open feel, with the new areas overlooking the practice facility, including our popular The Lane Vineyard Lookout.
The bar stools at The Lane Lookout are the perfect spot to sit back, enjoy a coffee, beer or wine after your round or a long day at work, while watching the action on the range.

While most players still won't be able to hit drivers due to distance constraints, we now have a much better, safer, and more functional practice asset for everyone. Come down and check it out!
