Naomi and her team were wonderful from beginning to end, taking great care of all the details at a sad and difficult time for our family (on two separate occasions over 18 months). I highly recommend them to help you organise a memorial / funeral of a loved one.

When our family recently needed to arrange a direct cremation for my mother-in-law, Naomi from Vivid Funerals provided truly exceptional support.

From our first phone call, Naomi's customer service, knowledge, compassion stood out. She clearly explained the entire direct cremation process, guided us through the paperwork, and made sure we understood each step. During such a difficult time, having someone so organised, calm, and caring made a huge difference.

Naomi showed genuine empathy and professionalism, treating our family with respect and kindness throughout the process and even gave us guidance on hosting the memorial ourselves and what we needed to plan for and consider to honour Mum's memory at the memorial. Her experience and understanding of funeral services gave us complete confidence that everything was being handled with dignity and care.

We are incredibly grateful for Naomi's guidance and would highly recommend Vivid Funerals to anyone looking for a compassionate and professional funeral director.

What does a diamond made from human ashes look like?

This green gemstone was made from one entire set of human ashes, which is why it’s so large. Not all ashes are required to carbonise into gemstones to create earrings, or necklace pendants.

Not often referred to as diamonds, as they are softer than the naturally formed stones, gem stones made of human ashes can be clear or colourful.

This particular one I’m holding was made as a keepsake stone, rather than an item of jewellery.

As local business owners at SGT Plumbing, we wanted to acknowledge the outstanding service Naomi provided through Vivid Funerals when assisting our family with the passing of Chris's Mum.

Naomi's professionalism, compassion, and knowledge were exceptional from the very first call. She arranged for Mum to be respectfully taken into their care from the hospital and guided our family through each step of the process with clarity and empathy.

During a very difficult time, Naomi's calm support and attention to detail made everything feel manageable and dignified. It was clear that she genuinely cares about the families she helps.

We are incredibly grateful for the way Naomi and the team at Vivid Funerals supported our family and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a compassionate and professional funeral service.

What is a burial gantry?

The gantry system is new technology developed by the Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust and Worksafe Victoria. It has been designed to ensure a safer working environment for both funeral staff and mourners attending monumental burials.

Monumental graves are the areas in a cemetery which feature stone and granite headstones, as opposed to lawn graves. Interments of coffins and caskets have historically been done by hand using straps in these areas, and it can be very dangerous for its pall bearers involved.

The gantry is a mechanised system which consists of two adjustable A frames that can be adapted to a specific site, with legs being able to be locked at different heights, depending on the surrounding grave sites. The coffin is then attached to a motorised arm that lifts it, places it over the grave and then, slowly, lowers it.

The gantry has been introduced at Springvale Botanical Cemetery, with plans to extend the technology to Bunurong Memorial Park in the future. This is a world first technology that was developed right here in Victoria.
