Fun fact - our taste and smell receptors send signals to our brain about the flavors we are experiencing, which according to research is genetic, and the variation in our DNA will affect our taste experience. Apparently if you have a gene called OR6A2 you will taste the herb as ‘soapy’. If you don’t you will enjoy the full flavor of its deliciousness (source taken from the Australian Academic of Science Sat, 8/11/18 - 15.22)
