At this time of the year coming up to VALENTINE'S DAY, I thought it might be interesting to know the origin of the day. I looked it up and found this:.......
"Valentine’s Day has origins in the Roman festival of Lupercalia, held in mid-February. The festival, which celebrated the coming of spring, included fertility rites and the pairing off of women with men by lottery. At the end of the 5th century, Pope Gelasius I replaced Lupercalia with St. Valentine’s Day. It came to be celebrated as a day of romance from about the 14th century."

My how times have changed..... the pairing of couples by lottery!!!

Lets be grateful that we live in a time when we have choice in our life partner!

In these times of social isolation..... you CAN still get married! In fact I had someone the other day ask if they can ELOPE. What a perfect time to Elope! You CAN get married and AVOID all the expense of a huge wedding then have a party to celebrate after all the Covid 19 restrictions are over. What a great way to avoid all the wedding fuss and expense!!
