We’ve spent the last few weeks asking our officials who absolutely should NOT be trusted with a microphone.

Given the response, we decided to hire a professional.

Meet Tam I Am. Our commentator, MC and all-round microphone wrangler for Nats 2026.

Tam hosts everything from major events and festivals to weddings, corporate gigs and family events, so unlike some of the people we’ve interviewed recently, she actually knows what she’s doing.

And because commentary, racing dogs and organised chaos aren’t enough, Tam is also a magician. She’ll be roaming the event performing magic tricks throughout the weekend. And if you’re spectator sitting ringside, she may even have a giveaway or two to hand out.

So yes, you can expect dogs who have decided that nats is the weekend to pull out something ‘they’ve never done before’, questionable officiating and now actual magic.

At least one person with a microphone has been properly vetted.
