I am a bit late….I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day 💐🩷
Mother’s Day is a very special day and can have a lot of mixed emotions for everyone. It’s a day where we are grateful for our own motherhood while also appreciating our own mothers.
It’s a day where we both celebrate and grieve a little for those who are no longer earth side, we honour them every day but today means just that little bit more.
Since entering cancer world over 3 years ago, I have been so lucky to meet such wonderful women and some of those incredible women are no longer here in the physical world. Today can be a painful reminder for some and I just wanted to acknowledge that and send love to everyone missing their mum 🩷
My hubby and kids created a fun-filled day for me with pancakes for breakfast, roller skating, mini golf and then made nachos for dinner 👌🏻 it was perfection. I chose to put the phone down that day and really immerse myself with the activities - I actually managed to skate around the rink which I didn’t think I was able to do!
I’ve always made an effort to get involved with the kids but once you’ve been touched by cancer you see things differently and you really take a moment to enjoy what’s happening around you. The cuddles, the smiles and silly games - it truly is the small things that count.
I also wanted to give a shout out to my mum who has been my biggest supporter for the last 38 years. The woman who stands by me, helps in times of need, an ear, a shoulder, a defender and everything in between. She gives so much and expects very little in return 🩷 love you mum 🩷
