This is not your typical food truck situation. Through an unknown feat of engineering, Happy Camper Pizza has fitted out a Vintage Airstream and a Vintage Chevy as pizza vans, churning out restaurant-quality, woodfired pizza. At Campground Kitchen, the menu is built for sharing—just like meals around a campfire. Sure, our wood-fired pizzas get the spotlight, but there’s plenty more to pass around the table, all made in-house:⁠

From heartbreak to the happiest day. 💍✨⁠

Stacey & Jake’s wedding at Tambo Farm (Feb 2025) marked the very first outing for Bonnie II, our newly rebuilt 1960s Bedford truck — rising from the ashes after Bonnie I was destroyed in the 2022 warehouse fire.⁠

Rolling up to Tambo Farm to make wood-fired pizza felt like a full-circle moment. Huge thanks to Stacey, Jake and their crew for christening Bonnie II with such good vibes.⁠

This silver classic has travelled from festivals with our toddlers in tow to countless weddings, birthdays, corporate shindigs—and even a few wakes—serving hot slices and big smiles along the way.

If you’ve noticed our pizzas tasting even dreamier lately, tip your hat to Emanuele Galoni - the wizard behind our dough. ⁠
⁠
Most pizzerias let their bases nap quietly in the coolroom. Emanuele? He has to tame dough that gets chauffeured around Melbourne in 1960's trucks, bumped down country lanes, and then fired in a wood oven.⁠
⁠
To pull that off he’s perfected a 48-hour, slow-proof Neapolitan recipe that behaves just as beautifully in our restaurant oven .Kitchen as it does after a road trip to a paddock wedding. One batch, two very different worlds, always the same airy crust and leopard spots. ⁠

Add in the fact he’s trained a crew of young guns to stretch, top and launch pizza like pros, and you’ll see why we call him “The Dough Whisperer”. 🍕⁠

From slinging pizza out of 1960s trucks, reversing 2-tonne trailers down sheep tracks, lighting woodfired ovens in sideways rain, plating canapés by head-torch, dodging potholes, cow pats and the odd alpaca… our crew does it ALL - with a smile and 00-flour in their hair!⁠

Last night those crazy efforts were crowned #1 for the second year running - an award voted entirely by newlyweds. 💍🔥⁠

To every Happy Camper legend who has:⁠
• coaxed a trailer through a farm gate only 4 cm wider than the wheels⁠
• kept a 400 °C oven roaring in a hailstorm⁠
• driven home at 2 am singing with the windows down⁠

Our Story

Street Food and Private Catering in Melbourne. This is not your typical food truck situation. It’s a big, Airstream caravan filled with pizza, adventure, love and even a set of twins!

Sonia and Remi started Happy Camper in 2013, with three kids under two, while Remi juggled his Engineering career and Sonia was on sabbatical from the ABC.

Through an unknown feat of engineering, they fitted out a fleet of 1960s vintage trucks & caravans with woodfired pizza ovens and AESTHETICS as well as to-die-for CATERING in mind!

Allegra Airstream, Merri The Chevy, Bonnie Bedford & Joie Teardrop, churn out restaurant-quality, handmade woodfired pizza.
