Rolling piano, gritty vocals and infectious New Orleans grooves — Damon Smith brings blues, boogie and soul to the Yorkshire Stingo!
Winner of the 2025 Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society (MBAS) Solo/Duo Blues Challenge, Damon represented Melbourne at the 2026 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, reaching the semi-finals.
An acclaimed singer, keyboard player and songwriter, Damon also earned a Music Victoria Award for "A Fresh Harvest From Old Seed". Expect heartfelt originals, lively piano playing and his trademark cheeky humour.Don't miss this one.

MASSIVE! Stingo Blues yesterday - over 85 jammers and punters throughout the day. Six jam sets, 12 singers, 10 guitarists, 6 bass players, 6 drummers plus harp and saxophone. Then the cream of Melbourne blues with a feature set going to 9:30pm - Paulie Bignell and the Thornbury Two with Cam Walter. Just WOW. See you next Saturday from 3:30 - 10pm for Blues Portrait - A profile of the Australian blues scene by Pauline Bailey launch #6 with The Blow Out and heaps of guests... then Sunday with the fabulous DAMON SMITH on vox and keys. THIS SUNDAY AT STINGO BLUES - PAULIE BIGNELL
They don't work any harder than Paulie Bignell. They don't bang and stomp and sting any harder than Paulie Bignell!

He formed the Detonators over 28 years ago, and recently with the Thornbury 2, Bignell will mess with your idea of the blues, of country, of twang - until you just gotta dance.
And yep yep, PB & T2 are headed to Memphis in Jan 27 as winners of the MBAS/IBC Band challenge.

He's gunna blow the joint out front of the resident band, The Blow Out - you wouldn't dare miss it!

THIS SUNDAY AT STINGO BLUES - SALTY TREVARTHEN
Salty Trevarthen brings a lifetime of blues to the stage, with a voice full of character and harmonica playing that can shift from a low, smoky groove to a full-throttle howl. He knows how to draw an audience in, whether he’s leading a song or trading lines with the band.
Behind him, The Blow Out gives the music its punch. Travis Winter’s guitar, Peter Beulke’s bass and Pete Hodges’ drums lock together for a sound that’s tight, lively and with buckets of attitude.
Expect blues with plenty of feel, a little grit and the freedom for the band to take a song somewhere unexpected.

THIS SUNDAY AT STINGO BLUES - CHRIS 'STIBBO' HANGER
By day, he’s your edgy design thinking guy. But when the sun goes down... STIBBO turns into the soul-shakin’, harp-blowin’, mic-grindin’ bluesman with the Jump Cats — and when that voice hits the room, you know it’s on.
Stibbo made his mark at Melbourne blues jams, turning heads and dropping jaws from the get-go. A natural on the mic, deadly on the harp, and cooler than a bar fridge — the man’s got the goods.
Now he’s frontin’ the Jump Cats around town each week, but this Sunday, we’ve got him right here at STINGO BLUES.
House band hits around 5-ish, jammers after that, then Stibbo and Harpo hit the stage around 7.
He reckons he’s only been singing “a little while” — yeah, nah. Come hear for yourself. You’ll dance, you’ll cheer, you’ll spill your drink.
