SURPRISE!

Lured by spicy margs on arrival, Victorian real estate royalty gathered on a rooftop in Carlton to celebrate Jess and Luke’s engagement.

An hour later, as everyone gathered for speeches, I came out of hiding (because a few people knew me) and introduced myself as Jess and Luke’s MC… AKA MARRIAGE CELEBRANT! The roar that errupted was deafening!

150 people made way for Jess as she snaked her way from one end of the rooftop to Luke. I shared a few stories, lightly roasting Luke in the process, tapped in to my inner-auctioneer at one stage and, after an exchange of romantic vows and rings, declared them to be married!

We detoured from tradition even further by launching straight into speeches, cake cutting, their first dance, certificate signing and celebratory tequila shots - all ticked off within 15 minutes. So good!

Congratulations Jess and Luke. Your wedding was a happy, heartfelt, loud and laughter-filled party. I loved celebrating with you.

When Remi and Jackson shared their stunning photo gallery with me, I scrolled straight to the signing pictures. It's the part of their ceremony I remember most vividly. ⁠

Usually this time is one for debriefing about nerves, funny moments and tissues used. A time for complimenting appearances and vows shared.⁠
⁠
Jackson and Remi did just that, HOWEVER they held hands (for almost!) the entire time. It was so, so sweet.⁠

CHASE + EVAN

You’d be hard-pressed to find a sweeter or more sentimental couple. Planning their ceremony was such a pleasure and observing them as I delivered it will stay with me for a long time. Their love story was written and relayed with care as I knew they’d listen intently to every word. And that they did.

They also grinned and laughed, paused to reflect, and commented interchangeably - very much “in the moment” throughout.

It’s so important to craft bespoke ceremonies - ceremonies that accurately reflect the personalities and preferences of each couple. Chase and Evan’s was a perfect example.

Their celebration was an unmistakably beautiful one. Carefully curated, elegant and joyful.

I’ll remember the manicured gardens, the delicate flowers, the string quartet, their sentimental vows, Danielle’s exquisite gown, and the happy atmosphere. However, what I think i’ll remember most vividly was Danielle and Cameron’s willingness to trust in their vendors and simply allow the day to unfold around them.

During our final meeting, they shared that they weren’t fussed if things didn’t go exactly to plan. They knew the children might opt out of the processional at the last minute, that certain flowers mightn’t be available, and that the weather might not be ideal. What mattered most to them was marrying each other. (For the record, the weather was perfect.)

Congratulations, Danielle and Cameron — on your marriage, and on never losing sight of what mattered most to you.

Bek and her family (including the two little legends behind me) are in position and ready to walk down one of the longest and loveliest aisles in the land.

I’ve made the return trip from the driveway to the Italian Garden at Coombe Yarra Valley atleast 50 times and know I’ll never tire of it. It’s such a beautiful garden, especially on a perfect Autumn day like Bek and Nathan’s.
