Seriously having fun cutting, slicing, arranging and morphing beats into something new for fun again. If yer into different twists on classics (plus some OG’s), hit up my Soundcloud (an account I haven’t really used much these past 5 years or so)…

Obliveus plays an infectious blend of funk, rnb, hip hop, indie, reggae, northern soul, dancehall, disco, edits, rock, pop, house and just about anything else he can use to work the room. A party beat

From 8am AEST, we (Shan & Obliveus) have Nick Dsk Wang in to chat about his long career with hiphop, his DNA Record label, releasing scratch records and remixing London Posse. Plus, we have the legend that is Choi Productions (aka Ivan Khatchoyan) in to chat about the new Cookin On 3 Burners 45 and then we play the new jam his band The Traffic just released with DJ Nu-Mark on the Run For Cover album.

Also, Shan and I may have officially broken the Internet with our 'Battle of the Blends' segment this week. Head over to Base FM (www.basefm.co.nz) for your essential morning listening.

With a fascinating history living in China for close to 20 years, UK DJDSK is a b-boy’s b-boy. His DNA Records label has been releasing quality hiphop, funk, reggae and boogie originals, edits and covers of those classic tracks that make a dancefloor. When not releasing YouTube clips of himself almost getting arrested scratching on portable turntables at iconic attractions throughout Asia, he’s remixed London Posse, ran a DJ agency and taught turntablism to rampant fans over the course of a long career. Of course, the boys go in deep on all this, drop a stack of his and his label’s jams and play 2 absolute belting sets of eclectic and upbeat tunes on a very big show this week.

It all happens this Thursday morning from 10am NZST (8am AEST) on 107.3 Base FM.

Side 2 for all my breakdancing mates, so hope yer feeling this vibes. Again, I was thinking of all things "block party" with this mix, but with side two it's way more of straight up dance affair, even heading into some proper Will Sessions funk territory. Still, plenty of upbeat hiphop, edits, class...

Hey all, I done made Side 1 of a new mixtape that's all b-boy/b-girl breakdancing hiphop, beats, breaks and all that. It's fairly upbeat, so hit me up if yer after a proper cassette after I finish Side 2.

Made a mix for all my breakdancing mates, so grab that cardboard, buy those batteries for the ghettoblaster, buy some zipper pants and anything else highlighted in Beat Street and/or Breakin because this one is for you. Seriously, TURN THIS ONE UP!!!! I was thinking of all things "block party" with....

Our show this past week was all kinds of next level. We had Steve Raskin in to chat about all things Fort Knox Five & Fort Knox Recordings, Shan Frenzie did a sick tribute mix to Biz Markie that is on another level and I dropped a set of all my fav FK5 tunes from over the years. "JAM PACKED" does not even do this show justice, so listen again anytime:

If you missed us on 107.3 Base FM, you can always find us here on Mixcloud, all the usual podcast outlets and on our website: www.thelowendtheory.com.au For this episode, we welcome onboard Steve Raskin, founder of The Fort Knox Five. Just dropped a new 45. Get on it cuz they’re going fast…

After a year of teasing and promises, we’re excited to finally announce the release of the first 45 Fan Club double A-side banger. Kicking things off, the A-side sees Freq Jackson let Billie Jean know what’s up with a little help from Rodney P that will certainly keep your dance floors off their...

Always happy to do a mix for Forty Five Day, especially as I finally got to lay down all those pop 45's I meant to play last year on lockdown. Drop this mix if you got a house party or feel like hopping around your house in your underwear miming with your eyes closed. Nothing to see here but classic...
