What a fantastic evening of music, friends and dancing. We're just coming up for air after Sunday's Volume 3: Summer Tales event at .

A big shoutout to these wonderful storytellers. We couldn't put on these events without your willingness to share your tales, some of them being deeply personal stories of your lives.

4 very different tales were told by .dj, .mp3, , and . There were highs and lows along the way and a lot of dancing on the emotional waves of the music.

is busy pulling together some highlight videos that we can't wait to share with you all.

We were sad to miss out on Sounds Surrounding from . We look forward to Vera sharing her very personal journey with us at a future event.

P.s. We'll be taking a break in February as Matt Frequencies and will be busy taking to . But we'll be back in March with a special edition - the Drag takeover

📖 Tale Synopsis - The Book of Divergence 📖

For the first time Tales audiences will be able to choose which chapter of the Book of Divergence to experience.

They may choose to return to Chapter I - Duality to uncover one of the remaining two endings (war or insanity) or they may choose to venture into Chapter II - Unlike You.

Chapter I

Duality is a trial for the ages, chaos versus order - represented by Father Mathew's Sunday Doof sermon getting a rude interruption from Brother Seth!

However Seth isn't just here for laughs... Things are not well in the realm of Hell.

A battle of trance and rock awaits your vote to determine the outcome!

Chapter II

Unlike You is a personal tale of a producer, Boo, and a DJ, each seeking fame and fortune, who get together to create a mega hit in the Megablast!

Unfortunately ego gets in the way, and the DJ takes off with the profits... Boo's vengeance will be a thing to behold!

A dance of love and pain wrapped in breaks and riffs, your vote seals the fate of one of the dancers...

Come down to Radio Bar tomorrow (Sun Jan 28th) to cast your vote and join us in a The Book of Divergence choose your own adventure. Voting for the chapter begins when doors open at 4pm and will close just before 8pm. Votes can be cast near the coffee machine.

Vera Roze's journey is a testament to her resilience, passion, and unyielding determination to pursue her dreams in the music scene:

Originating from the secluded landscapes of East Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory, Vera immersed herself in diverse genres outside of her bubble, and ignited a profound love for electronic dance music.

Influenced by luminaries like Daft Punk, Fatboy Slim, Gorillaz, Deadmau5, Skrillex, Boys Noize, The Chemical Brothers, and Justice Group, she developed a deep love for music from a young age.

📖 Tale Synopsis - Home 📖

"This Tale is Peach’s account of the last 21 years of her life, and safe to say it hasn’t all been fun. Growing up in the country shielded her from many harsh realities of the world, and also hid some very powerful secrets.

From a very young age Peach had an insatiable hunger for life beyond the farm. Her curiosity took her down many paths - some good, some bad - but it was never enough. There was an emptiness and an ill-at-ease while out in the real world. It was too loud, too nonsensical, too bright. Too much. And more than once, she broke.

What happens when you're broken? You rebuild. And that’s what she did. Peach learned to find joy in life, and she learned to fight. The biggest fight was to be believed and understood. Despite many soul crushing roadblocks, at 34 years of age she was diagnosed with Autism and at age 36, ADHD. Understanding her neurodivergence was like being able to read her own code and learning to run it in the typical world.

While learning to operate in the typical world has been life changing, the software that is Peach Thirteen Thirtyseven runs best in its native environment. Somewhere quiet, isolated, and familiar. So just before Christmas, she hatched a plan. She packed up all her stuff and went home. Paradise between the wool, wheat and wine.

What happens out here is a magic that happens when a person gains control of their own destiny. Peach is invincible out here, and you will now experience her at full flight."

📢 Performance Spotlight - The Book of Divergence 📢

An experience unlike any other, The Book of Divergence is a fusion of DJing, Storytelling, Choose-your-own-adventure books and unexpected crowd interactions.

Birthed from the deranged mind of Matt Frequencies and vetted by the chaos controller The Violet Bombshell, these stories are designed to take you on a musical adventure through time, space, order, chaos, love, hell and beyond.

With audience involvement in the form of story selections that determine which chapter of the book will be played at a given performance, as well as what ending of the story will be played - which in turn, determines what music will be played, and an MC of split personalities in the form of Father Mathew and Brother Seth, acted live by Matt Frequencies, the sonic tales are sure to draw you in, while precision lighting and visuals provided by The Violet Bombshell will ensure an immersive experience for all!

This month marks the official release of The Book's second chapter - "Unlike You". Throughout the evening you, the audience, will be able to vote to continue uncovering more of Duality's endings or venture into the new story of Boo and the DJ?

The Books performance kicks off at 8pm following the stories shared by Vera Roze, Peach Thirteen-Thirtyseven the DJ , Orphic Angel and The Brown Beat. Doors open to Radio Bar at 4pm Sunday 28th January.

🎨 Only learnt about drum and bass in '23 and now it's one of her favourite music genres

The definition of organised chaos, The Violet Bombshell has a rich and storied background in events through her experiences at the MCG, Marvel Stadium and Oz Comic Con.

Using her experiences, Violet brings a rainbow of lighting experiences to Tales from the Deck, controlling the atmosphere in the form of projections and lights all run from her VJ battle station.

Violet prefers to avoid the limelight herself, which is why she spends a lot of time making sure it's well focused on the performers telling their stories!

Violet will be boosting the brightness and kicking the saturation up a notch or five for Summer Tales. She'll be bringing a new music visualiser .live and an additional 6 parcan lights. There'll be no hiding in the shadows for this month's DJ's!

If you'd like to see how Violet can paint with the colours of the woodwinds, come on down to Fitzroy's Radio Bar 4pm Sunday 28th January. She'll be lighting the way for Peach Thirteen-Thirtyseven the DJ , Vera Roze, Orphic Angel and The Brown Beat. She is also responsible for keeping the peace between Brother Seth and Father Mathew, which is no mean feat.
