🎂 Celebrating 6 Years of Gourmet Guru

This October, Gourmet Guru proudly celebrates its 6th birthday!

For founder Chef Sonia, Gourmet Guru was a dream many years in the making. In 2019, she took the leap — leaving full-time work to pour her energy into building something special. Starting from a registered home kitchen with Manningham Council, a three-door commercial freezer, and a vision, we launched with ready-made meals for busy families and handmade finger food for parties and events.

When COVID-19 changed the world, we pivoted. Melbourne’s lockdowns saw us creating stunning grazing boxes and continuing our ready-meal service. Sonia’s husband Chris, then a travel agent, stepped in as delivery driver — and before long, joined the business full-time.

From those humble beginnings, Gourmet Guru has grown beyond what we could have imagined. In just six years, we’ve built a walk-in coolroom and freezer, added a commercial dishwasher and oven, purchased a second van, and expanded into a team of four full-time staff.

Today, our focus is clear:
✨ Corporate catering
✨ Finger food for events
✨ Grazing tables and boards that impress
✨ Spit roast & buffet catering

We’re also proud to give back through our Discounted Community Catering Program, helping us reconnect with and support the community that’s been part of our journey from day one.
